He has been subpar lately but how could his legs be gone at his age? Mac has consistently improved over 5 years, is a very smart player. Would be a very strange trajectory. I think he just needs rest.
I mean I suppose it's partly that but I think the bigger issue is the standards for hosting keep going up because all they care about is the money, so all of a sudden having big stadiums and enough transportation isn't enough, you have to have fancy suites and fancy hotels and all sorts of expensive amenities instead of just having normal soccer matches
Man the level of pettiness on these boards. — On a completely unrelated note, Allende’s loan with Inter Miami has come to an end and he has been offered to River. Apparently Gallardo gave the green light to negotiate. I don’t watch MLS, but I know some of you do, so what could you tell me about him and his current form?
So, the draw is coming up. I think for the first time, I don’t think I care all that much for it. I would be absolutely love it back in the day. Perhaps now it has to do with setting up the brackets right after won’t be as direct or maybe there is way too many teams to figure out the path. I’m not gonna see it live but I’ll get to it later in the day. So, my valuable insight and how things can play out will come out just a couple hours after the draw. But nevertheless, a group of death can be something like Argentina Morocco Norway Italy Easiest would be something like Australia? Panama/Qatar/Uzbekistan Curacao I think we could potentially end up having something like Austria Tunisia/Egypt Jordan
Allende's more known for his runs off the ball than on the ball. He excels in moving into the right space for goalscoring opportunities, he's fast and he has a good workrate in defending. Not sure if this is more of Mascherano's tactics or not, but his finishing is hot and cold. Right now, it's very hot, but before there were times where some of his shots that needed to be finished, wasn't a goal. First touch can be crap and dribbling is non-existant.
It wouldn't surprise me if the CONACAF teams join the Copa America permanently. Maybe they have the Gold Cup as a qualification tournament for it while the original as it were or rather current teams from CONMEBOL qualify automatically. You know exactly what Dominguez wants. A tournament to not just rival the Euro's but one that makes far more money and the only logical conclusion is adding the USA and improving Canada to the mix. Deals with the networks there and more sponsors. MacAllister's legs have not gone. He is carrying a niggle which he should take time out for or have surgery. Playing on with it is doing him no good at all. His travel stats on the pitch are so far down it is clearly not age related.
I don't think CONMEBOL would want all CONCACAF teams to join, there's a lot of tiny useless federations that exist to mooch off bribes. I mean that fits in with their vibe, but who wants to share? I say let the Caribbean split off and do their own thing like Oceania and only take the big teams from North America.
Yes, I don't mean that South America is in such a bad state that it is unable to hold events. I mean more about cultural, spiritual collapse, and brain drain (see this forum). Sure, there are other problems like crime, etc. But there is really a lack of pride and focus on money as you say; if more money can be earned in USA, no reason to not have the tournament there, in most people's minds. Has a lot to do with so many South Americans being in USA as well, especially the elite who have a base there. S. American has always been run by a comprador elite but the level now is extreme.
I think that the tournament should be held in South America because is our tournament and the US is one of the reasons of the "degeneration" of the continent and of this sport. Giving the Copa America to the US is like giving a cigarette to a lung cancer patient.
Finally the actual draw should start soon. Thought this was funny Trump: But when you look at what has happened to the football, soccer in the US. We never call it that because we have another conflict with a thing called football. But when you think about it, this is football, there is no question. We have to come up with another name for the… pic.twitter.com/oxHUm3nREA— Acyn (@Acyn) December 5, 2025
Thousands and thousands of football players, hundreds of legends… and they bring out this random baseball player and Shaq to do the draw
Argentina in Group J, that means matches potentially in Kansas City, San Francisco, and Dallas for group stage. If they win the group then Round of 32 is in Miami, Round of 16 is in Atlanta, then Kansas City, then Atlanta, and finally NY
Lol @SupaMario called Austria? Just call the 4th star please now I guess and I can be less restless this time around
