Yeah, he's a good utility player. Would rather see him take that role for the national team instead of Gonzalez, who's more skilled but has an empty head.
Anselmino has been playing in europe as rb, at a high level well the past few weeks; unlike montiel whose been shitting the bed since June and getting injured. Back up Giay, whose in the final of the libertadores. Yeah plenty of options for rb suddenly emerged
lol Anselmino has definitely not been playing as a RB. He plays as a RCB which has a much different role and responsibility than to a typical RB. Giay has seldom played for Palmeiras for the Libertadores Knockout phase and even then his performance does not convince me as a natural RB. His profile suits much better as a RCB which is not what we need. Besides Molina who is perma benched, only Maffeo is playing in an European Top 5 League and I'm not sure if it's the team or if he's also a factor as well, but Mallorca are barely above the relegation spot. I would like to see Kevin MacAllister given a chance, but for now Montiel and Molina are the best options which is very concerning. Do please tell me the other options for RB that suddenly emerged as I am not seeing any quality ones right now.
Lol Anselmino has only started like 4 games for Dortmund, none of them as RB. Our buddy from up north is trying to pull a Diego w/ Otamendi with this suggestion Giay, for whatever reason, doesn’t seem to be trusted by Palmeiras for the big games… he didn’t play either match vs River in QFs, was a sub in the series vs LDU in semis, and also sat on the bench last weekend when they faced Flamengo in a decisive match for the Brasileirao. He still has a pretty decent amount of overall minutes this season, but it is somewhat concerning that everytime they have to play a crucial match they’d rather place their faith on someone else. Right now the options are Montiel, Molina and Giay, and it probably won’t go outside of them if we’re being honest. The only other alternatives would be Maffeo, Home Alone, or Foyth as RB. Bustos and Saravia used to be promising alternatives, but have long fallen off. Gorosito could be an option after his good U20 WC, but the reality is he’s still a pibe with barely 45 professional minutes to his name. It would be too rushed to take him to the WC and make him start, but who knows what will happen from now til June. Maybe he can break into Boca’s first team in the next months and make a push for a spot in the tournament roster.
Real Madrid confirms Mastantuono is affected by a pubalgia and will be out for an undetermined amount of time… will definitely miss the November friendly and realistically won’t play til next year
Crazy that we are roughly a month away from the World Cup draw. I have always loved the draw because it helped me map out our road to a potential final. This time it will be a bit different since the expansion. But I kinda wish the top 2 got a walk-over for the Round of 32 and then they played the winners of the Round of 32 in the Round of 16.
Hope he is 100% fit soon, he's having a rough time and getting slagged off, but that is what happens at Real Madrid, you get about 3 minutes before the fans turn on you.
Giu assisted Julian's goal in CL, after another crazy sprint and diagonal run. I'll take him over Nico G anytime these days.
The 5th of November would have marked Sabella's 71st birthday. I know a lot of people say they wish Diego was around to see us lift our 3rd Mundial but Sabella deserved it as well. Just a great manager and person. Gone too soon. QEPD.

Apparently the shades of blue are from the previous World Cup winning shirts. I guess that makes it a little better.
