He's not Italian. He has Italian ancestry.

Scaloni should be more aggressive like he was with Paz and Garnacho but still Soule's agent ( probably a scare tactic) needs to shut up. Keep it in house.

As much as it's perplexing of why Soule is not even called up and I do agree with Soule's agent, don't think it helps anyone, especially Soule, that his agent has been saying all that stuff in an interview. An absolute dumb move.

There has always been stuff like this… I remember when Senesi was being linked to the Tanos and then Scaloni called him up. I don’t understand why Scaloni does not bother calling him up. My two cents is that he does not want to complicate matters for himself but it is also contradictory of what Scaloni says, which is “You have to be playing and it is impoetant being in form…” What more does Soulé need to do? I also don’t get why he called up Almada who was injured… Why not give that spot to Mati?

I know when the issue of Retegui came up he talked about how he wasn’t convinced by him and fine, I understood because of Mateo’s playing ability… But we don’t have a player profile like Soulé’s. We need a dynamic winger and he provides us that. Again, Giuliano and Nico do not give us anything offensively.

Maybe he’s left footed and we have Masta and Paz? I know sometimes he roams in areas where Messi plays but you can push into a natural winger position. You couldn’t and shouldn’t do that with Paz. I don’t think with Masta either.

The November friendlies in my opinion will be it. If Soulé does not get called up and then the door is completely open for a switch. I’ll be honest, I do not think he’ll do it but I just believe he wants a chance.

We have to be honest. If the likes of Tucu and Nico Gonzalez did not get hurt prior to the Mundial in 2022, Scaloni takes both of their candy asses and somebody like Dybala would’ve stayed home.

Oh, the good news is that this has made news back home. Soulé was not really getting too much mentions back home like Masta but this is generating news. Maybe it will wake Scaloni up.

This will only generate negativity among Argentina supporters towards the player. I remember when Luka Romero getting roasted by the fans.

The chance of him still getting a last minute call up still about as big as Italy not making it to the WC, unironically.

I'd feel bad for those who had tickets in Chicago. Miami on the other hand might as well Buenos Aires Lite.

Well, in a recent interview, Soulé did mention his dream is to play for the seleccion and he plans to work and things will work out.

So, it could be just the manager just blowing smoke.’I think Soulé has probably vented his frustration and the manager is trying to make a play here to help his client out.

But I looked up the manager, he reps several players like Panichelli, Pezzella and Buffarini(lol).

He just seems like a big mouth from the reports I have read. Perhaps doing more harm than good.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Mati comes out in the next few days posting a picture of the seleccion playing in a friendly or puts out a statement that he wants to play for Argentina.

FIFA and Infantino are disgusting. The world's game. The people's game. But they are quite happy to price out genuine fans. You know the ones that actually appreciate the sport, have followed their teams everywhere before and make a Mundial the spectacle it is.

Instead we see more corporates, more tourists, more of those awful football influencers and so called celebrities hoping to be photographed.

I thought Blatter was bad but even he was not as corrupt as Infantino nor as greedy. The conehead isn't merely satisfied having his bank account stuffed full of brown envelopes by Russia and Qatar and Saudi.

Shame on FIFA. A lot of fans from England who would love to go are not going especially with the way the country is being run into the ground by Labour. And how an earth are fans from poorer countries going to be able to go ?

I think our support and having had the immense pleasure of being part of it if only just once are the best in the world. But it's kind of sad too that people had to sell property, cars & take out loans just to get to Qatar.

More and more even in the domestic game certainly here in the UK the ordinary fan is being shafted. Ridiculous television pricing, sky high ticket prices and the cost of merchandise. £120 for a jersey made by some poor individual in a sweatshop for a tenner ?

No wonder Adidas can then afford to splash millions in endorsements to certain athletes. Very moral company. The best thing to do is for fans to refuse to buy tickets and when there are empty stadiums the authorities might realize why. I have to say the German fans are the best in one regard as they make sure they don't get fleeced, have a real say in their clubs and boycott when they feel they need to as a collective whole.

If Scaloni was using the various football databases my friend uses he would be well aware that Soule should be picked and be in the eleven. Never mind. Lionel needs a smack of common sense. Maybe it will be a good thing after 26 that he moves on. Placente would be a great fit.

oh man, this is the first time that I am parting ways with Scaloni. I have never criticized his decisions, but if we lose Soulé to the Italians its going to be a real blemish. The way Soulé has elevated his game this year should've earned him an automatic callup and an argument to be a starter.

I get that some players are not Scaloni's type of players, but Soule is super young and could be the perfect type player to combine with Mastantuono & Paz.

Come on Scaloni, we can't lose Soulé

Martinez the actual 2nd best defender Argentina has is close to returning. Possibly end of the month. With him Argentina has the best CB combo and it showed last Copa.

Very cool! I honestly totally forgot about the Hand of Pod over the last few years. Great Argentine football podcast. The hosts were always very knowledgeable about talented young players.

He was also part of a mini doc about the World Cup with Copa90 and it shows just how crazy Argentinians are about football. So many superstitions and habits haha.

Sad to say Miguel Angel Russo has left this world. He fought the good fight for a long time against that horror of cancer.

An Estudiantes legend he will be idolized in Boca for the Libertadores triumph in 2007.

Miguel Angel Russo was at the head of what is probably the most joyous journey I will have ever experienced in any tournament. Hard to believe that was 18 years ago already, but I still get chills. Massive loss, and he will surely be missed.

Perhaps to more of a business reason than ICE.

“Yes, confirming that the Argentina against Puerto Rico match has been canceled in Chicago", Serra said. “The promoter made the decision this morning due to low ticket sales."

    Who really knows.

I've mentioned it before, I've been to games here in L.A. without Mess several times and the it was pretty dead. Maybe if we played Mexico, it would've moved the needle a bit more. For example, in 08 we played Mexico in San Diego with our stars and the place was packed. But matches v Central American sides not as much. I know there is a big Puerto Rican population in Chicago but do they even care about futbol?

Tapia and AFA are going to squeeze the life out of Messi until he retires. We all know they are dreading the day he calls it quits. Why else will we go to India?

An absolute Rosario Central legend too. Well respected by fans from all clubs, an icon of futbol argentino

May he finally rest in peace, after being in such a delicate state for a very long time now

Soule is of paternal French ancestry distant as it is and who knows what on the maternal side. Soule is a French surname. There are plenty of Argentines of French descent including several of the Pumas side and u20 Pumitas.
