    Died at this loool

Did I mention how much I miss Lisandro? I really hoped Balerdi could fix his brain farts but jeez what a horrible game from him so far. Can we sub on Anselmino now?

Why Simeone ? He has superior pace to Nico G and can be useful on the counter plus his work rate is far superior in defending from the front.

Balerdi doesnt cut it, too weak. He gets easily bullied. Ota does what he always does in those situations, he drags people down like he did against France.

At the CA, Licha and Cuti were the guys holding down the fort. Once he got injured, Scaloni went back to his old trusty dog instead of put some fresh blood. But Otamendi, should’ve had the decency to have retired.

We'll have to see what form Lisandro attains by next summer. Anselmino if he plays like he started with Dortmund could be an option. Senesi has been excellent for Bournemouth.

Scaloni should have given more time to the newer CBs than he has constantly playing Romero & Otamendi. It is a weakness going forward plus the fullback depth.

TBF Simeone wasn't doing great before that.

Balerdi was next in line and based on this eyesore maybe it was better we didnt see more of him lol

I want to see more of Gomez, Anselmino and Lomanoco.

Apparently, if you are red-carded, then you will be suspended for the debut match in the WC

Not sure how legit this is though

RDP having a go at Balerdi and rightly so. That ball in his channel again.

    The referee is useless.

Lomanaco has been playing well. It's a shame 2-3 of the pibes don't have a couple more years experience as the future depth at CB is enormous with Ramirez, Gimenez just to name two.

Yeah, long term I am not really concerned about the Cbs.

We just need a reliable 3rd guy for Lisandro's injury issues. I am confident Anselmino can be that guy. He's stupidly talented.

Pretty sure it is accurate. I’ve seen it before. Can’t recall for who but I do recall it happening.

This confirms that Balerdi reads this forum and purposely got Otamendi sent off so that he misses the first game of the WC.

    Balerdi saving football

Probably. I think Foyth if he remains fit and plays well for Villareal will get the nod as he can slot in at RB. Scaloni likes versatile players.

But Scaloni has to pick Senesi. I love Scaloni but he hasn't even in the last game given the newer CBs the chance to pick up any experience. Really the last 3-4 games should have been used to blood newer players. Give them experience. settled into the system.

I would want to see Paz today. We know what Alexis brings to the party. Give him or Franco the chance to run in their natural CM role. Give Varela that run out. We know what Paredes brings to the party.

I don’t watch enough or at all of Balerdi in France but people always rave about him. Maybe there is reason why he’s still France, I don’t know. But I would really crucify him. I mean, look at Cuti giving away a goal v the brazucas in a bonehead play. It’s all about bouncing back. Otamendi should’ve let him go and let Dibu clear up that mess. Oh, well. Now, we are under the gun. Not a test to be honest.

The issue with Scaloni is not going after a game when we can do so. He seriously set up with a clown line up.

He's very similar to Romero but more agile and I think has an even better range of passing. He's really lovely to watch. He shouldn't have left Boca when he did as he wasted several months doing nothing but playing PL Development football which is far beneath him.

Really pleased he managed to get first team football and showcase his abilities. We are ridiculously blessed with centreback talent as well as midfield.

Otamendi for all his faults did bounce back. This referee is determined for Ecuador to win.

Nothing in that just a 50/50 challenge and the Ecuadorian player pretending he has been mortally wounded.

This ref is always useless. But we have been crap all game so get what we deserve here. This is a game we get nothing out of, both with the terrible starting lineup and now with 10 men.

Ecuador think they have won the World Cup. Will be knocked out in the Group Stage as usual when it matters.

    This referee is bent.

Well, I am glad that we have to attack a bit in the second half. We've had zero creativity. Scaloni thought he could use Simeone and Gonzalez to use to match Ecuador's speed and physicality.
