Paredes and Dybala shouldn't even think of leaving Europe until after the WC26 Soule definitely needs to leave this month though either through loan or permanent transfer Leandro Paredes (Roma) vs Lazio pic.twitter.com/I6ajikPnK7— JAV_EDITS (@jav_edits) January 6, 2025
Looks like Montiel is going back to River Gonzalo Montiel regresa a River. Acaba de concretarse el acuerdo definitivo con el Sevilla.— Gustavo Yarroch (@GustavoYarroch) January 7, 2025
Good for him. He has been in a terrible situation created by the legal issues and now is set to be dismissed. The dumb loan to Nottingham was such a chump move by Sevilla. Glad he is heading back home and hopefully he can regain his form that kicked the most important PK of our lives.
River closing in on Montiel, already acquired Martinez Quarta, and currently in negotiations with Atletico Paranaense for Esquivel. Loving the NT-ization of River through the hands of Gallardo.. we had too many mediocre players brought in by Demichelis over the last two years.
Why is Chino going back before he even hits 30? Strange move. The same goes for Montiel. I guess the good news is that new faces will be brought in.
The trickiest part of international tournament is we often face a shootout and having great goalie and good takers really matters. It happened in 2006, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2021, 2022, 2024. Montiel contribution might be looked minescule if we're talking about the whole tourney but if its someone like Biglia who takes those penalties, it could have been different story... We might lose 1 or 2 if those shootouts.
1-4 before dibu 5-4 after dibu The irony is that Argentina is the most successful World Cup penalties shoot out victories with 6 out of 7 wins. https://www.fifa.com/en/member-asso...nalty-record-argentina-croatia-morocco-france
Goycochea still hold the record with 5 wins on penalties . 2 at WC 1990, 2 at CA 1993, 1 in Finalissima 1993. Romero won 2 shootouts, losing two, but those two losses were in finals where he never make any saves. I honestly never have confidence with our penalty takers between 2004-2020. When the likes of Biglia & Higuain step up, you know its an impending disaster.
I agree with the players, this guy is not ready to retire! 🚨 BREAKING: The players of the Argentine National Team will try to convince Ángel Di María to return to the national team! Though happy in retirement, efforts will be made to bring him back. @fczyz 💣🇦🇷 pic.twitter.com/Qp0Zg13R7A— All About Argentina 🛎🇦🇷 (@AlbicelesteTalk) January 9, 2025
ADM is outscoring Julian,Lautaro and Dybala so far this season.. he has scored 30 goals since rejoining Benfica. Young Di Maria at Benfica = 15 goals in 125 matches 36 year old Di Maria at Benfica = 30 goals in 73 matches
Di Maria can do whatever he wants as he's more than earned it. Would be lovely to see him play some more though. Maybe closer to the actual World Cup, don't need him right this moment.
I mentioned that I would not be surprised if he did return back in November. I think he just wanted a break. The door will always be open for him(As is for Messi). The other senior members need to get thrown out on their melon head's.
I'd be willing to give ADM and Messi the Joel Embiid treatment and allow them to take games off during qualifying and not play for friendlies. . . but hope they don't suck like Joel
Julio Soler made his Bournemouth debut a lot sooner than I expected and his physicality makes him suited for the PL than someone like Barco imo. Very early but good signs so far. Julio Soler 👌Very good half so far. Looks very agile and can get the ball forward. Happy so far. 🍒Dango Ouattara, strikers instincts. Loves a through ball. Great half from them two especially.Credit to Ben Winterburn as well! Very impressive. Works very hard. 🍒😁#afcb pic.twitter.com/zR56222sRG— Simply AFCB 🍒 (@simplyafcb) January 11, 2025
He underwent tests and it showed that no major damage occurred from that nasty tackle. He should be back in a couple weeks.
Garnacho with a good assist for Uniteds lone goal against Arsenal. Licha scores in the penalty shootout to help them win
Julian scored Atletico's winner. Molina with a very good cross but the ball touches Griezmann's arm . On other notes, ADM has won his 36th team trophy, he's behind only Lionel Messi as Argentine with the most trophies. Haters gonna hate but Ota won his 25th trophy, he's officially Argentina defender with most trophies in history.
Best part was Garnacho's assist started from G.Jesus mistake. Also, Inter's winner came from Lautaro's volley which was blocked by goalie and his teammate scored from it.
If Griezmann leaves ATM, will be interesting if ATM will reach out to Dybala 🚨🇦🇷 Not sure if this is old, but Paulo Dybala follows Atlético Madrid and Koke on IG. 🤔 pic.twitter.com/egDQiFRseH— Atletico Universe (@atletiuniverse) January 13, 2025
