Somebody fire that guy RIGHT NOW! This is unacceptable...If such blatant stupidity were written in a political forum, the writer would suffer the worst consequences. It shouldn't be ANY different with this. This guy actually gets paid to write about sports or update the website, and he can't get that right? Come on.
Looks like the guy who wrote the article did an okay job. However, I'm willing to bet the same writer didn't provide the caption for the picture. They probably handed that job off to an intern or whoever pulled the photo.
If Beau checks in on this thread I'd be interested if he has thoughts on how that might have happened.

having written to usatoday.com to tell them there is a problem with the caption, this is the entire response i received: "we'll look into it." i thought that was even funnier than the mistake.
Relax Fortunately, everyone on BS is perfect and never made a 'boo-boo'.... Christ, papers mis-label pictures all of the time....no reason to get your panties in a bunch OR to think that soccer is 'being disrepected' again..
