Not again! Oh well, time to enjoy a great match once again. I hope that Mexico wins this time, but I won't bet online. It's been great watching both teams and it'll be sad seeing one go away. But it is what it is, prepare for the showdown, people!

Definitely, it's going to be a very tough match. Here's hoping for the best (... for Argentina)! :)

    Time for Messi to shine!

Every time we play the Mexicans I age about a good few years. It will be a tough game and I also hope things go our way. I do not think the Mexicans will try to play like the Greeks and have 4-5 players around Messi at all times but they will make it tough for him. He has always done well vs the Mexicans so I do hope it is encouraging.

The piss easy group stage is over. The real fights in front of us.
We demand nothing more than another century goal from Maxi. Messi's tournament perfomances have been indefatigable, he kept all the goals for the knock out stage. Great tactic.

I am very glad, that Mexico will not park the bus, so we will use our chances, converting into goals.

What I also like about this team, that we can also score from corners, our free kicks, if the strikers don't score, then the defenders, or midfielders.

    Vamos Argentina !

I don't see why Diego insists on Micho. Burdisso has looked good and has partnered with Samuel for a long time at Inter. Micho keeps falling at the wrong times lately. Reminds me of when he fell in the Bayern-Manu leading to the easy goal.

    That be the Bilardo influence.

locoriver: Time for Messi to shine!

He has been shinning. Its just he is playing more as an enganche than that Ortega type forward thing he does at Barca

milito, tevez, higuain, messi, aguero. That's not even fair, lol. If we had one of those, we will be pretty good.

On the other hand, we have the shacky Micho Demichelis, who will face faster, younger forwards. That will be interesting. I hope Samuel is back for Mexico.

We know so far, that the team can score late. They do, sooner or later. But we do not know, how the team is going to handle a 0-1. I hope Maradona and his team prepares the seleccion for every situation.

World Cup for us starts next sunday.

I really like our chances with Heinze (yeah, that's right) Masche, Tevez and Higuaín coming back... I'd rather see Clemente (great match today) for Jonás though.

If we start with vela, cheech and barrera, than maybe we have a chance.

This is the team I would personally like to see:

    ----------------Romero------------------
    --Clemente--Burdisso--Samuel---Heinze---
    ---------------Mascherano---------------
    --Maxi Rodriguez-----------Di Maria----
    ------------------Messi----------------
    -------Higuain------------Tevez---------

    Subs: Aguero, Pastore, and Bolatti.

Will be very tough game! Diego MUST replace JONAS and DEMI. Mexicans use wing forwards and Jonas is not the right man on that position. He isn't the defender at all, loses position and not strong in tackles. Left from him plays DEMI... I don't know what's wrong with this guy, but he creates minimum one chance per game at own goal. South Koreans converted it in goal, Greeks did not. Mexicans be sure, will! Also he is very, very slow, and after Mexican fast counters, there will happen terrible things. And the problem is that they play on the same side. I'd be very worried, if this tandem will play the next game. Also, it seems to me, may be I'm wrong, that MESSI is already nervous for his goalless three games. Diego must work with him psychologically, other ways he may be will try just to score the goal, and the team play in attack won't be the same, as in previous two games. I say this, as I remember, in Barca he played some goalless games and against Dinamo Kiev, the kid was playing lonely, just trying to score the goal. He was like crazy there...
This is my Line up for Mexicans:

    -------------------ROMERO-------------------
    CLEMENTE----BURDISSO----SAMUEL----HEINZE
    -----------------MASCHERANO----------------
    ----------VERON------------------------------
    --------------------------------------DI MARIA
    ---------------------MESSI--------------------
    ----------TEVEZ-------------------------------
    --------------------HIGUAIN-------------------

CLEMENTE is much better in deffence, much faster and also much more usefull in attack than JONAS. Also he can cover the space between him and VERON, who, though he made some mistakes, is needed in such games, with his expirience and class.

I do not think Diego is going to change much. So far he is saying "So far I been making all the right calls". So Jonas and Micho will be in the game, as much as I do not want to see Micho. Diego loves Jonas, and said he would take him to the WC if Newcastle were in the 4th division. We need to take the ball of their feet, I think they are going to counter vs us. So a early goal for us can be huge to set the pace.

I have a question for you guys, why doesn't Maradona start Milito for full games in the World Cup? I thought he looked deadly for Inter but I haven't seen Diego use him much, what is the reason behind this?

Milito played for a long time today and was well worthless. He did nothing, Milito has slotted to my 6th option now. Palermo is ahead of him, the problem is that Milito just can not figure out playing with us. It is not the time to give him a chance, play time is over. Higuain is a proven goal scorer for us.

Bookies are given our chances at 4/9 to beat the Mexicans. The Mexicans odds are 11/2. If I put down a 100 for us the pay out is around 44.44, if somebody puts down a 100 for the Mexicans they will get 550. We are heavy heavy favorites for this game, they are not giving them a chance which I just do not get!

I have said it before Micho is a different player with Samuel next to him to bail him out. Without him he bares the responsibility of the back line. The game vs the Germans, and Nigerians he was not so bad. So I believe Samuel will be back vs them. Jonas is a bit of a liability but he gives it his all but I agree he better not play that RB spot. I would rather have him drop down a bit and let Clemente start that. Put Maxi as a sub for Jonas. I hope Diego saw some good in Clemente today. But his love for Jonas is a lot so I do not think he will do that.

The thing with Higuain is that when the game is tight hes useless, with real madrid he scores against the easy teams, when it matters he becomes selfish, just look at his finishing vs nigeria

Disagree, Higuain is constantly moving and positioning himself well. It's bs to say he only scores against easy teams...and how many times did he save Madrid in tight games with the title on the line.

You sure about that? Go on the RM board and ask them who scored some of most important goals for them when they won La Liga a couple years back. He was scoring vital goals for them left and right.

As for the game vs the Nigerians, that GK had the game of his life. He stopped some unreal shots, sure Higuain missed a sitter but he was everywhere. I am not worried about Pipita, he will do his work.
