Yet no mention of Higuain missing a sitter or Tevez's long-distance shot scraping the crossbar. It could well have been 4-1 at the end of the first half.

What's your point? That's what happens when Korea sits back and tries to absorb pressure like North Korea or Japan, bad decision by Korean manager, which was the point of my last post.

Just because you lose doesn't mean you can't analyze tactics.

Damn you hispanics need to learn some sportsmanship.

If knowing the scoreline is all you want then forums is not for you.

You don't have to agree with everyone's opinions on tactics here but at least be open to the possibility of different opinions and hypotheticals.

What do you mean "damn you hispanics"? What is that supposed to mean?

Sportmanship has nothing to do with internet forums, if anything you are talking about netiquette.

Mods need to lock this bad boy up!

Edit - These threads were going pretty well until you dropped this bomb. Shame on you, then you talk about Sportmanship. Respect and receive respect.

I think what Horangi is trying to say is that we had a fighting chance of tying the game and that shows that the Argentine back-line is suspect. Against better opposition this may be exposed, or Messi and co up front just might prove too much for anyone in the entire tournament to handle.

It's funny though, Maradona did us a favor by winning the group; their side of the bracket looks much tougher than ours!

Argentina has a suspect back line but as long as they make up for it by destroying the other end of the pitch then they're ok lol. Agree though you guys have a chance of making the semis IF you get past Uruguay, who are playing like vintage Italy so good luck lol. Yeah Argentina is heading towards a war zone so they're mental abilities and defense will be put to the test.

Im not kissing ass or anything. Just calling a spade a spade here.

I think its delusional to bring up hypotheticals of us being competitive with an Argentine team that we played recently in our group. Our tactics first and foremost were shit. We played scared and were completely inefficient in containing them. We had our moments no doubt but to say we were threatening or competitive is totally off the mark. The OG mightve set some sort of tone but were werent in "fighting" mood this match like we are normally have shown in other matches where we were down. LCY's goal mightve given us some temporary hope but we clearly fell apart and the Argies methodically and surgically tore us a new a-hole. I think its better to say we learned a lot from this match and hopefully we can be better the next time we have to face them.

Ive said it several times, there is probably 1 or 2 teams that can play on par with an Argentina team that we saw in that match.

LOL Are you one of those Koreans who lived in Argentina?

No one's saying Korea is competitive against Argentina.

You can still strategize and discuss tactics even against superior opposition. You just sound weirdly insecure about even discussing the possibility of how Korea could beat Argentina.

Dude, he lives in Hawaii. And he's right, we were hopelessly outmatched against the Argentines. That does not change the fact however that we were able to poke holes in their defense; something the better teams in the tournament will be more able to capitalize on. Again, Messi and co leading the attack may be enough to overwhelm any opponent, but I can see the Argentine defense cracking. That may be the only hope any team that faces them has.

Of course Korea was outmatched. But you also don't capitulate the game because you're outmatched. You discuss tactics and analyze what could have been done or not. That's the bulk of what makes football fun.

Huh definitely dropped the ball on a tactically level and that's been the single biggest hurdle so far IMO.

This thread is about the Argentina-Korea match not about Uruguay. There's a Knockout Rounds forum where you can discuss that match if you want.

Let's keep this on topic and no further accusations of "fanboynism" please.

Why? Fanboyism may or may not exist but it is definitely within the realm of possibility for any fanbase club or nation and i don't see anything particularly inappropriate about talking about it.

IMO claiming Korea is better than Argentina or claiming Uruguay is better because of their form in the 1950's are both the same type of claims.

Because these forums are moderated slightly heavier and another poster might not respond kindly to your accusations of "fanboyism". Just please avoid it in the future.
