Now that Arena has listed his team for the Argentina match http://soccernet.espn.go.com/headlinenews?id=255651&cc=5901, basically the same team as the one that played Canada plus Pope (although he may still be too injured to play) what do people think or what have they heard about the Argentina lineup. If its not an official matchday I assume they'll bring a young and/or fringe player team - basically a B team. The US is bringing pretty much a B team with a few exceptions. Only Pope, Donovan, and maybe Beasley, Mathis, and Mastroeni are likely full National Team starters.
I think it's likely that it will be the same, with the possible entrance of Pope. And I think there are more full team starters than you think. Olsen or Klein are the likely right wings. Boca is a likely starter. Whoever plays left back is likely a strong candidate for that position. I think this is basically what we will think of our A-team in a year, with the obvious additions of healthy JOB, Reyna, Friedel and McBrid ein the near term. .
The title of this thread and its initial post suggest that it should be about the possilbe lineup Argentina will have. Comments about the US lineup vs. Argentina should be posted elsewhere.
Agreed. I shouldn't have even mentioned the US lineup in my first post. I think it confused others. What I really want to know is if anyone has any ideas about Argentina's team for this match.
