    hahahahhahaha
already the third thread about this game on different forums..
I bet there are about a dozen more that I aint seen yet.

All the usual suspects have crawled from under their rocks to celebrate this 'massive' triumph.
there wasnt a single thread about the toulon under 20 tournament until this game..
    hhhm wonder why??
is it because its a two-bob worthless youth cup??
    yep i think so.

Still, it's hard to ignore an 8-0 scoreline...

    Wow. Amazing result for Argentina!

  14. Probably cos nobody gives a ************ about it. I've never seen a match report for an under 20's game in a paper. I doubt if England had won the game you'd give a toss about it either. It's just that Argentina got so little to shout about these days that the Argies have to post something like this to try and get some national pride back and get the English lads backs up. Argentina has not always been better than England, it has been better on occasion, just like England have been - like last summer. ************ off back to the circus.

A rather telling comment was made after the game by the U20s coach Les Reed - "we have some very good U20s, but we don't have them here in Toulon".

You can't find any reports because it's such a non-event, especially when a clearly makeshift side was sent over. The Daily Mirror had a full 62 word report, a third of which was spent naming the goalscorers. The Sun didn't carry a report at all. Clearly though this is the result of media bias from a nation who'd be scarred for life if they knew that a bunch of players that nobody has ever heard of had been thrashed by Argentina's U20 team.

Yeah, but if England won 8-0,don't feed me any BS that it wouldn't have been pasted all over these boards by the "usual suspects" or that your media would have ignored it as much as they did of this "ass-raping".

    No, it wouldn't.

You see we actually realise how little football at this level means.

I'm sure if any of the regular posters actually knew the game was taking place the result would have been posted and piss duly taken. I'm also sure it would have got just as little press coverage though. I mean, the U21s, who play in a proper championship, get precious little coverage in the papers. This friendly tournament isn't even a blip on the radar. In fact it was probably only the amazing 8-0 scoreline which meritted a whole column inch and a half being devoted to this vital fixture. Really, you just can't underestimate the level of unawareness surounding this tournament. You'd be hard pressed to find a single football fan in England who even knows it's taking place.

As I said before, the real shame is that England were prepared to embarrass this tournament with a group of players whose only chance of ever getting anywhere near an England shirt is when they are out shopping at JJB Sports. Have any of those players ever even played in a first team match?

Didn't Burkina Faso just kick the crap out of Poland too?
    Saw it on Eurosport.
Didn't however, know about the England game.

But if pololo and a few others say it matters, then I guess it does.

What shame I feel ... excuse me...I'll just tell the girlfriend to dust off my noose.

I suppoose the England haters here are right.

We're too ashamed of the scoreline to admit we were totally outclassed and that this proves England will be a 3rd rate footballing nation soon along with the likes of Northern Ireland and Lithuania. It proves that our young talent is just not good enough and that, as this is obviously the best England has to offer at U20, we'll probably not qualify for another WC after 2006. It also shows us how weak we really are when our top young players at Fulham, Arsenal and Northampton Town can't get a game at all in the Premiership. I mean if only we were fortunate enough to have young players who would play week in/week out for their club then turn out in the Toulon tournament during the summer. So what if they don't get any kind of rest? They're playing for England!

    Oh the shame!!!

I tell you it's a good job we didn't play Burkina Faso, if you think 8-0 was bad well....

Why don't one of you English stop looking for all the reasons why it doesn't matter and accept the fact that a team representing England[i/] got pasted.

You guys say it doesn't matter, but I bet there are a bunch of U-21 English players who think it did.

DONT GIVE ME THIS CRAP! if england had beaten argentina even by 1 goal it they would have reported on it. Even if had been a penalty kick with the help of the ref like when they beat argentina at the world cup, i bet you i would have seen at least 1 story on it!

knowing this is england's rival you bet they would have reported on it if they had won.

You're worrying about this WAYYYYYY too much.

Makes it look like it's you with the problem, not the English.
