Great win by Boca. By the way, how prestigious is the Copa Sudamericana. Is it true that it is beginning to rival the Copa Libertadores?

It is a low leveled cup, many Brasilian teams complained about it in the beginning claiming it is worthless and the only thing it does is interfere with the Brasileirão.

However I will say,I watched the game and what a beautiful game it was,I have to give it up the Boca what a great game played by them and the fans they even got me hyped! However I must say it was nothing compared to a full Mineirão or Maracanã :D

Once ... in December 2002, when Olimpia was playing Real Madrid for the Intercontinental Cup in Tokyo, the main columnist of AS-Madrid, Alfredo Relano, wrote something around these lines:
"Before the game in 2000, Real went to Tokyo to play the Toyota Intercontinental Cup. Toyota we thought? not even Mercedes? And our enthusiasm wouldn't pick-up. After the game, watching Boca celebrate their win over Madrid made this cup hurt ... and we started to like it. And made us want to win it. And suddenly Toyota was a great car. And now we want to beat Olimpia ... "

I guess that the only thing that is missing in this cup is a final between a Brazilian and Argentinian team. Until then, don't worry if it is a good cup or not. 2 out of 3 winning teams so far are Argentinian, San Lorenzo and Boca ... By the time Brazilian teams reach the final, and win it, there could be a lot more team namess written on the Cup, or maybe is Boca several times. ;)

Brazilian teams didnt participate the one San lorenzo won.

And brazilian teams usually send B teams to play Sudamericana.

But it looks fine to me, an all brazilian final in Libertadores and probably an all argentine final in Sudamericana. Im happy.

And don't forget an all-time 24-12 lead for Argentinian clubs in the Libertadores.

Of course Libertadores is much more significant than Sudamericana. So is winning the Argentine championship. But it's still nice to win Sudamericana as well. When you're Boca, you want to win everything.

And while Sudamericana will never be Libertadores, it seems to be getting more competitive now. The Mexicans are desperate to win anything in South America, and so they take it seriously. And as far as the Brazilians, Inter seemed to take it seriously, at least. Overall it is being taken more seriously than in previous years.

It just happened one time, don't get carried away. When a Brazilian team wins seven Libertadores like Independiente or five like Boca, get back to us.

In a time when brazilians didnt even bother send teams every year to participate Libertadores because of the violence and the obvious partiality of the refs for Independiente.

Brazilian teams started carrying about Libertadores in the 80s.
And in football, when brazil starts carrying about a competition, we become the best. ALWAYS. Accept it.
