There are still 3 points between us and Fulham, but they have goal differential and often look the better club. It feels like it's setting up for relegation on the final day. Just like 2009, they'll play like nothing's on the line and accept defeat. Maybe it wouldn't be this way without coronavirus or without the injuries, or certainly without Bruce, but who's left who isn't fed up with this regime. You might think that with Ashley's demonstrated desire to sell the club there would finally be hope. Instead, we are looking at the drop and a possible reunion with the mackems. Hope is truly gone.
Why would any coach or player choose Newcastle? It's a mess that no one wants to be a part of. Ashley selling would change that instantly.
My worry is that Ashley won't want to sell if we're in the Championship. Relegation could delay a potential sale by another year, or more.
