Could this be the best year yet... new sponsors two stadiums...more competetive teams... freddy... landon making a public name for himself... i am over the moon at the moment... i hope this isn't a dream...maybe LA will win some credability?

Sorry I am excited could I be dreaming? Looks Like things are looking up... now if we could just get some more investors.

    Much too much happiness...

What kind of a board do you think this is? People should be carded for such overt displays of glee as the above!

(doing my own personal happy-dance as the season is about to start :))

Two teams playing in rinky-dink stadiums. Three playing on plastic grass...

Come on, get in the BigSoccer mood!

    :D

Just think back to last offseason for a second...

Now think of everything that has happened since last April...

Best year ever for soccer fans in the US :)

    Can't wait until Saturday!

Let's get this @#$%ing season started!!!

Oh, yeah, BTW: LA already has credibility...

But you're right on. By the end of the season we could see the whole "Hundredth Monkey" collective consciousness thing take over, and find our beloved sport on sports talk radio, Sportscenter, and other places folks go to get sports information. We could have Chris Albright taking Mark Madsen's place at the ticker-tape parade after this year's MLS cup. Snoop Dog could be seen somewhere with a Ruiz jersey for pete's sake!.

It's going to be one hell of a year :)

All are just more steps in the right direction. IF MLS can get Frisco AND Harrison on course to completion it should be a huge, huge story.

Don't forget the players returning this year. I'm excited to see Frankie, Joe Max-Moore, and especially Earnie Stewart back in the states.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp I wholeheartedly agree - you make some very good points! :)

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp While there's still much work to be done to establish MLS in hearts and minds of this country, much has already done that some of the pessimists here don't (or won't) see.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp For years, MLS fans have been clamoring for yet another national network to broadcast MLS games besides the ABC/ESPN/espn2 troika. Voila... Fox Sports World will now also broadcast MLS games for at least four years (and pretty much all the playoff games will now be nationally telecast, for goodness sakes!) and the weekly highlights show that we've been missing for a year, and yet the pessimists still find something to complain about.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Also, I remember that in the early years of MLS, on BigSoccer.com and elsewhere, tons of MLS fans would excitedly ponder what it would be like when MLS and U.S. Soccer would finally have an American star, one that would give soccer a higher profile to the general American public. Many of those fans are still waiting, yet they've seemed to miss the forest for the trees - especially since the successful U.S. run in the World Cup last summer, we've seen the likes of Landon Donovan, Clint Mathis, Brian McBride, DaMarcus Beasley, etc. appear on Letterman, grace the cover of non-sports magazines, and be the subjects of questions on show such as Jeopardy and Pardon the Interruption (just to name two).

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Not that these stars are in the same league famewise in the U.S. as a Michael Jordon or a Barry Bonds - and probably never will be, given that the other established sports are unlikely to ever be overthrown as the most popular sports here - but the American stars are here... now! And there will be more to come. :)

I think as each year passes things look up. Especially in April when all of our teams are still in the race for the Cup. :)

I am disappionted with three teams playing on plastic grass. This stuff, no matter what people say, effects the game and more importantly effects the players minds. Josh Wolff specifically mentioned to me at the Superdraft that getting off the field turf was something on his mind.

Everyone is disappointed about that. But it's tolerable as a short term solution. The Burn will have 30 regular season home games before their new stadium opens, and I believe the Fire could be playing in Soldier field this fall, so it's not as bad as it seems.

Also, WUSA will have some games televised on ESPN2 which is good for soccer overall.

Anybody read the new clean sheet, wouldn't it be great if Mark Cuban became the owner of the Dallas Burn?

I hope that the league can capitalize on all this new publicity (tv contracts, stadiums, blah blah).

Oh... and on another note. I was at lacrosse practices and somehow freddy adu came up. And the coach knew who he was and these two football players who play knew about him too.

I got the shivers right then and there... then i got decked by some junior (i am an underclassmen).

The icing on the cake would be if the league makes money and if an MLS team wins the Champions Cup.
