After watching them lose the final at home tonight, I wonder if they will ever win anything. Could they go another 80 years without winning anything? Will they be talking about the Stillatano curse in 80 years?

No, because you actually have to win something first before being compared to the Sox or Cubs.

Wish I could have been there tonight, but I do not know if I really want to see the team lose a Cup Final.

Anyone know how many fans showed?

Thank you. Sucky turnout. I had kids to watch, plus no cash for a ticket or transport to Jersey.

Don't be silly. They'll get a front office in there - eventually - that knows what the hell they're doing, and gives a damn, and they'll sell tons of tickets for future finals.

As for now...well that's more than we can hope for.

Sure was a darn shame one of your own fans did you in! Darn shame!

At least the Metros don't put cork in their cleats!

Unfortunately, I was at the match. There were about 3K at most.

There was Game 6 Red Sox/Yanks and a brutal wind the entire day. Hate to make excuses, but that's what it is.

Don't forget the fact that our front office didn't give a damn about the game.

Yes, their fans don't know how to write a thread title without giving away the result.

Seriously, why is that? I've read this a few places now.

This was the first championship game the Metros have played in. Why would they not care?

Are they stupid? Incompetent? Are they thieves? What's the story.

Tim Leiweke seems like a damn sharp guy - why would he let a monkey Nick Sackosh** stay in charge this long?

For the Metros to be the Cubs people would need to feel sorry for them. Nobody feels any pity towards the Metros.

The Metro Fans would also have to be loyal and show up to their championship games to be compared to the Cubs!

Who feels pity towards the Cubs? Not me. I couldn't be happier that they and their yuppie-ass fans have to wait another year or 100.

Hasn't GM Nick (don't feel like spelling his last name) been working without a contract for like a year now? I suspect AEG are keeping him on right now because they feel that they need him for the stadium deal. But as soon as the stadium is finalized and a shovel hits dirt, he is out the door.

Comparing the Metros to the Cubs is wrong. A better comparison would be the Texas Rangers - unlovable overspending losers. Losers. Losers.

Overspending on what?? Promoting important games? Season ticket drives? Getting the football lines off the field? We're unlovable underspending losers - sorta like Dallas, NE and Columbus. Everyone else is either merely unlovable, underspending, or losers.

You list the Cosmos as one of your teams, and rail on about the Metros overspending?

    Bingo- we have a winner.

I have suspected for awhile that I would not be the least bit surprised to Nick stretching this out so he has a little job security.

I should have clarified myself: Secret cap-busting unlovable losers. The difference w/ the NASL & MLS was the salary cap for the rest of the league.

And, while I do think the Cosmos spending was responsible for retarding the growth of American players, it was rampant expansion that ultimately doomed the league.
