I was just at the manchester u forum. they keep whining about ronaldo's leaving saying that he's gonna die and stuff. its bothering me cuz they keep blowing things wildly outta proportion.

post ur thoughts on the matter so i dont have to go back there.

Man UTD fans have more than a legitimate argument regarding Ronaldo. When you gather all the facts (I will not go on lengthy argument here to back claims), you can see why they would upset at this. I clearly see this despite being an ardent supporter of Portuguese football.

Btw, they're also upset at the selection of Heinze because of similar circumstances. (Ronaldo at Euro and Heize at Copa America)

hey this is how i see it...being a man u fan and all(BENFICA COMES FIRST!!!)... im not that dissapointed cause id rather have my country with gold aaround there necks... they can live without cr7 ....but hey i dont get aggravated that they are mad about it.... i understand but i rather have him be with us in athens ...right or no????
One more thing you guys have to look at ... they would understand if england was in the olympics..... and man u was without scholes and neville and all them other guys...then they would understand so for now let them wine(NEED SOME CHEESE WITH THAT).... and ill stick to wanting my country TO win a gold medal rather than have our best player not there cause sir fergy is a whiner , ill make sure to tell him july 31 at giants stadium NJ, when i go see man u vs ac milan that he should shut his mouth and ill tell him its from all of us here at big soccer....(what u guys think?..... :D

i was refering to the claims made by some that ronaldo's career could be ruined if he goes to the olympics.

it seems to me as if they are just trying to make excuses. i can understand that they are loosing a key player, but its not that big a deal. the portuguese clubs could make the same claims as well. so as far as them going down the road of "hey, we need him to play for us", they will soon meet portugal has its car stuck on the same road. however, portugal isnt complaining nearly as much.

I don't think England understand because they never let their good young players represent for the U20 or U23 level because they really don't care about those tournaments. ManU's argument is warranted CR has been playing nonstop soccer for the past year with no real break, he can burn himself out. Not to mention he is losing time that he could be with the team gelling. Its nice to see that he is real patriotic but he might want to look at things longterm when making his decisions. For example Heinze, who was considered to come right in and start might lose that chance. By missing the first couple of matches as SAF has stated he will be other players the chance to take his job from him, so Hienze may end up as nothing more then a sub. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

lol, i agree wholely that he isnt in danger of loosing his position at manchester or even his career. (which was a point that was being made in opposition to his attendance at athens.)

one thing i dont like is that they (the manchester united ppl) arent aknowledging the fact that ronaldo wants to go and has made the choice independantly to do so. they keep acting like the federation came up to Old Trafford hog -tied him and drove away to the airport to steal him away to portugal. well, it ddint happen that way. he said many times thta he wanted to attend the olympics, and he was a prime choice for the federation. they just can't excpet that he has such high standards of patriotism.

i think that he is doing a great thing, patriotically and towards the ideology which the olympics embody.

GO RONALDO, GO PORTUGAL. GO FOR GOLD!! FORCA PORTUGAL!!!

Ronaldo could play for any club in the world...If Man Utd wants to make these threats then let them, they will end up going the whole season without him and thats that. Ronaldo knows whats best for himself and he is an adult...the decision is his and it has been made so everyone needs to get over it!

Manchester Utd. side is weakening with Ole Gunnar Solkajaer out of 3 months,Nicky Butt out of their USA tour, their BRIGHTEST prospect and only player on the team that I like is Ronaldo, and they cant have him at Man U until September at the latest cause of the Olympics.

I think by Ronaldo going to the Olympics only going to make him a better player, who get's the benefits? Manchester United

I do understand the bad feeling towards Ronaldo and Portugal, but can you imagine if the coach would pass on picking Ronaldo, could be a new revolution

damn right he can mkae his own decisions., and thats what he did. ferguson is having problems coping with the fact that he cant boss ronaldo around.

he is their best player and i hope tyhat he doesnt renew his contract with them. he should come back to sporting.
