As much as I hated that dickweed Tom Osborne (who (perhaps rightfully) was fearful of letting Texas into the Big-8, the only thing I have ever heard about Cornhusker fans is that they are the classiest -- in winning and losing. This comes from Texas fans who I have talked to and my own experiences. Might as well say something nice about them when they are down. They'll get back up again...
My family is from Nebraska. I had no choice but to be a cornhusker fan. We're classy. I think. I think we realize we deserve this miserable season, after unjustifiably playing in the national championship game last year. Karma, baby.
If Segroves is any indication of Sooner fans, Husker fans will always have someone to look down on in terms of class.
as somebody who lived in colorado most of his life, i've known more obnoxious husker fans than I care to remember. also, I went to a colorado nebraska game once and was sitting next to nebraska section in boulder. with all the vulgarities, dirty chants and cheering for injured players we actually left because my young neice was with us. i'm sure it's not representative of the whole, but those guys couldn't even spell class.
You'll also find vulgarities in Boulder. You'll find them in Lawrence, in Manhatten, in Norman, in Chapel Hill, in Talahassee, in every college town for a football/basketball game or most NFL games. If you are an away fan in Lincoln for a football game, you don't feel threatened like you would many places. Texas fans and the coaches spoke high praises of them over the weekend. But then again... I think the enemy of my enemy is my friend could be true considering the rivalry between Nebraska and Oklahoma, and Oklahoma and Texas.
