I guess we'll know for sure when the crowd shots come in a few hours. But just wondering if anyone has a sense how many American fans might still be on hand for today's game. All the travelers I know had bought group-game tickets only, and they're now all back home or en route. It's one of the paradoxes of the World Cup, isn't it? The further your team advances, the fewer of your fans are actually on hand, because of the logistics of extending a stay across the world on impromptu notice.
what a joke? whats the point of going to the world cup and no staying for how long ur team is, especially with the draw we have. That is pathetic, what a bunch of fake US fans.
Yeah, but folks staying as long as they can afford to stay and then going home doesn't make them fake.
Well, actually, that's not what you were saying. You were saying that people are "a bunch of fake US fans" just because they have jobs, families, bank accounts and other real-life demands that leave them unable to stay on the other side of the world for a month. Good grief.
Someone posted in the pre-game thread that there is a MASSIVE U.S. bbq going on and that there are a lot of U.S. flags. I think we'll be in full force. He also said some South Africans are supporting us, some are supporting Ghana so its mixed (good for us).
holy moly, stop taking everything so literal i was playing around. Geez bro this is a message board, get used to it.
Get used to it buddy, people on this site see every word you ever post, and they will use it against you if you are ever wrong.
espn reported there's alot of england fans b/c they thought they'd finish first in the group and had bought tix in advance thinking just that. would be nice to get a post-game report to see if they were pulling for us.....
