I know the Rapids are, New England and New York have all white away uniforms. Does everyone else? What gives?

Columbus doesn't have a white kit. Unless you count the training jersey, which is white and yellow.

Also, although the Galaxy and others have a white kit, they don't always wear it on the road. They're starting to get the clue that a team should be known for a certain kit, and unless there's a good reason, they should always wear it. Look at last years MLS cup, Chicago in Red - San Jose in Blue. That was nice.

DC United wears white jersey and black shorts. They used to have a red 3rd jersey but they got rid of them after the end of last year.

    DC United
Home- Black shirt, black shorts, black socks
Away- White, white, white (though they wore black shorts this paste weekend)

    Columbus
    1st choice- Yellow, yellow, yellow
    2nd choice- Black, black, black
(Columbus has worn yellow in all matches except 2 on the road & 2 at home, in which they wore black)

    New England
    Home- Navy, navy, navy
    Away- White, white, white

    Chicago
    Home- Red, red, red
    Away- White, white, white

    MetroStars
    Home- Red/Black, black, black
    Away- White, white, white

    San Jose
    Home- Blue, black, blue
    Away- White, white, white

    Los Angeles
    Home- Orange, green, green
    Away- White, white, white

    Kansas City
    Home- Blue, blue, blue
    Away- White, white, white

    Colorado
    Home- Blue/Black, black, black
    Away- White, white, white

    Dallas
    Home- Red, black, red
    Away- White, white, white

Besides Columbus, road teams will always wear their "home" uniform while playing LA or Columbus (except when they wear black at home). The only exception to this is when New England wore white in their game in LA.
LA also wore their "home" uniform at DC United and Chicago wore their "home" uniform in both of their matches in Kansas City.

Thanks Lee. I thought most of the teams were wearing white. I don't like how they're doing that. Like Snarf said, teams should weat their number one uniform unless there is a major color conflict.

Don't you guys all know that MLS headquarters have no concept of brand identity...hence all the away teams wearing white!?!?

Its the equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters vs Washington Generals, where everyone that's a casual fan thinks they are playing the same team every home game throughout the whole season!?!?! Whatever......

Even moreso I wish the teams would leave their signature pieces of uniform if possible. Like the Galaxy, when they switch to white shirts, should leave the green shorts and yellow socks. United should use black shorts and socks unless they clash with the other team, quakes should use black and blue unless it clashes (with the clash, yuk yuk). That would be cooler, I think.
