    What is K-league

K-league is the oldest league in Asia, dating back to 1983. It is still a young league compared to other parts in the world but the K-League are also the most successful league in terms of continental titles as well. The K-league is a 15-teamed league and have yet to have the pro/relegation system in place, but hopes to do this within 2 years. Currently each K-League team is allowed to possess 3 foreign players.

    Who is Seongnam

Seongnam is the most successful team in the K-League with 7 titles to their name. No other team in the league has this tremendous record. They have recently been crowned champions in '06, but last year even though they finished first in the league, they lost to Pohang in the play offs thus nulling their effort. This year they sit 3 points behind leaders suwon, but as like last year they gotta do well in the playoffs to gain the title. They also have 1 title in the continental stage back in 1996 and have been runners up twice on 1997 and 2004.

Arce needs to compete with the best players in the league, Dudu who is a striker is currently the top scorer (Scoring 1 goal per game), yes he really is. The Brazilian is the biggest competitor to him along with newly acquired Lee Dong-gook who came back from Middlesbrough recently. Lee Dong-gook is arguably the best Korean striker but at the moment his lengthly absence from the game will serve Arce well. Another foreigner is Mota, well well, where do I start? He's my favorite player on the team, he's just so dangerous nobody can contain this guy. He can play attacking midfielder, and sometimes on the flanks and also just behind the striker.

Oh and yeah, Seongnam's owners organize the bi-annual "peace cup" tournament, and next year it will be held in Spain with giants such as Real Madrid, Sevilla, Lyon etc are invited to participate. So there's plenty of opportunities for Arce to get some exposure to Europe as well.

Arce will wear the #8. This number has previously been worn by my favorite Korean NT player named Kim Du-hyeon. He now left to WBA in the premiership. It's a good number.
