it's bogus, but thought I'd share anyways. I've heard mixed stories about where this originated from. Supposedly part of a April fools prank that never took off. Wonder if there is kernel of truth in there anywhere which may have been the origination of this prank. Detroit has made interest in having a side known in the past. the team move to be eventually replaced with another team (ala SJ is not unprecedented either. There are several things which made me realize it was bogus right away but... strange
Re: Revs sold to Steve Eisenhower (President of the Detroit Press News) LOL, is there a link to this?
Re: Revs sold to Steve Eisenhower (President of the Detroit Press News) Poor attempt at making that a believable AP article. "Last word we got is" is not really a good way to start a sentence.
Re: Revs sold to Steve Eisenhower (President of the Detroit Press News) Ya, the writing in this story is terrible even by AP standards.
Re: Revs sold to Steve Eisenhower (President of the Detroit Press News) Will someone pass me my Nitro pills. That's as funny as watching Jesse square off with Monty over who gets the last bottle of Strawberry Ripple.
Re: Revs sold to Steve Eisenhower (President of the Detroit Press News) yeah, that was a huge giveaway!
Re: Revs sold to Steve Eisenhower (President of the Detroit Press News) no, it was forwarded to me by a friend of mine who is also a rev fan. it came to him from someone who is not a soccer or MLS fan and that person apparently didn't know it was a prank (and wouldn't have known enough of the little bits of subtitles in here to put it together that a MLS fan would) Again. very weird,
Re: Revs sold to Steve Eisenhower (President of the Detroit Press News) I love the part where they suggest a stadium being built in Detroit LOLOLOL Detroit isn't going to be building anything in the near future. Well anything that isn't built of cardboard.
Re: Revs sold to Steve Eisenhower (President of the Detroit Press News) "They were very close to building one in Sommerville" Well, if the "AP" can't correctly spell the name of the alleged city where the Revs couldn't get a stadium built, that ramps up the bogus quotient pretty quickly.
Re: Revs sold to Steve Eisenhower (President of the Detroit Press News) i suggest you read more AP articles. they were mostly proofed by me.
Re: Revs sold to Steve Eisenhower (President of the Detroit Press News) MLS Rumors reports Revs to relocate to Detroit in 5... 4... 3...
Re: Revs sold to Steve Eisenhower (President of the Detroit Press News) I Like how it said AP Press. Associated Press Press?
Re: Revs sold to Steve Eisenhower (President of the Detroit Press News) That's funny. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go put my PIN number in at the ATM machine.
