Right... I just realised I had plans in Tulsa on April 5.... erhm... Let's all take a roadie to Tulsa! It is just an exhibition game, but wouldn't it be a good show of support and perhaps garner us some of that elusive "love"? Well, regardless, I think I'll go...
Heck, i plan on going... It's a roadie for me for any game, so why would I not drive 2 1/2 hours to Tulsa when I drive 2 1/2 hours to the 'Head?
I might be up for this. I grew up in T-Town and used to go to all the NASL Roughnecks games there. I hope they play at Skelly Stadium again (TU Campus) for traditions sake. I'm sure several ex Roughnecks would be around as they still run soccer shops or coach teams in the area. I don't believe any of Joe-Max Moore's family still lives there anymore but it wouldn't be out of the question if maybe they tried to get him over if A) he's in MLS or B) what ever Div1 team he winds up on is no longer playing. His father owned the team and he played in local ranks up til about 14 or so when he took off to Cali. Tulsa's NASL team was very much like the current Wizards in that the league showed favoritism to the big market teams and Tulsa was left with what's left and hand me downs many times. Made their championship even that much more special when the won as a result. The town supported them very well given the market and was considered a hot ticket item when you got the chance to go. At the very least I can advise everyone on where to shack or party while you're there.
I would pack up the family and head down there. Leave Sat. Morning, do a Milwaukee and crash close to the stadium. If it is 1/2 the fun of Milwaukee it will be worth it.
I could be up for this depending on the times and the arrangements. Any word on Dallas supporters coming up to Tulsa? we could tailgate together or something to that effect.
K, but we just gotta make suure there is a few college girls soccer teams there who can entertain me like in Milwaukee.
I'd probably be up for this. I missed Milwaukee and I don't want to miss out on another big trip if enough people take it.
Ok I told Lisa about it last night and I kinda got the feeling that if it is going to be anything like Milwaukee she might just stay home. But I am still in.
Just make sure that if we do a tailgate, it's BYOB... Nothing but 3.2 beer in Oklahoma. It can't be a Milwaukee replacement without a steady stream of beer.
