http://www.msnbc.com/news/898804.asp?0cv=CB20 Just when you thought that the Big Five were on their last legs, Steve Jobs jumps in and offers $5-6 billion for Vivendi's music business. Maybe this is a sign of the future -- it gives a massive boost to Apple's planned music sub service. They could also build Interscope and Def Jam label artists into iPods, e-mail songs directly on to iTunes files, I dunno what else. But it would immediately put Apple at odds with itself, at least in the short-term. No more "Rip, Mix, Burn"?
Word is we could see Apple's music service AND new 15 and 30 gig iPods by the end of the month or beginning of May.
