I was doing some work for the Impact (setting up the adboards) and Joey Saputo and the director of ticketing were there. We got to talking about Molson Stadium and Saputo said that McGill had finally decided to go with a blank field. When asked when we might see the Impact play there, he didn't commit, but said something along the lines of "If we host the CACup final...". I have a VERY strong feeling that a good season in the stands this year (6,500) with a few sellouts and possibly a showcase game (playoffs or CACup final) will land the Impact at Molson Stadium for the 2004 season...
So, it is safe to assume that Molson Stadium could be used just like Frank Clair Stadium in the future?
Brilliant News. The Impact are doing a good job promoting the game in Montreal, and a move to Molson Stadium would raise their profile further.
It does? Didn't they paint over the lines for the Francophone Games? I was at most of the soccer games, and I thought I saw painted over lines, which didn't look that bad.
now we need a nice staduim for TO and Vancouver Then we could have 3 MlS teams in Canada That would be GREAT
I think Toronto has to first get themselves an A-League team and not that piece of crap that pretends to be one. HAHAHAHA.
At University of Ottawa. Apparently, at Frank Claire, they either cut out the lines or had stripes of green Fieldturf that would be taken out after the games to be replaced by white lines.
