Alisson out for 2 weeks, Jota a bit longer than that.

Jota is injury prone. Not like Keita - but picks up some long term injuries every year.

Still annoyed about the dead rubber CL game he played his first season with us and was then out for 3 months.

    Klopp today:
Matip -- It doesn't look good. The scan is not done yet. We don't know how long.

Jota -- was running yesterday, outside. Everything is going in the right direction but he is not in team training.

Alisson -- is closer but will not be involved tomorrow.

Alisson is going to be back for United - that's my expectation.

    Salah, Diaz, Gakpo, Jota, Nunez.

It's a real luxury to have 5 top quality forwards with some decent/upcoming back ups as well.

surprised we've seen little of Doak the last few games. hopefully we can grab an early good lead tomorrow and give Mo some time off.

Liverpool expect to be without Joël Matip for several months after the defender sustained a knee ligament injury during Sunday’s win over Fulham.

Doak played for the U21s today - and had cramp problems - so pretty unlikely he'll be on the pitch tomorrow.

(they got beat 4-0 by Bradford. jeez)

That could be a really sad ending to Joel’s Liverpool career. He’s a Liverpool legend.

We better start looking for a cb in Jan then coz at his age with the prospect of around a year to recover Matip has quite possibly played his last game for us.

His contract is also up in the summer. It seems unlikely he would get a new one.

I could see us giving him a 1 year deal only for the purposes of rehab and then letting him be 5th choice. It would be a very low value contract.

I hope he hasn't, but tough for sure.

he has been fabulous, how's this for a stat?

    Opta:
Joel Matip and Virgil Van Dijk together
    Played 72, won 51, 16 draws and 5 losses.
At Anfield -- 26 wins, 4 draws and zero losses.

He's going to spend 6-9 months of his life without a contract.
And then he's going to have to explain, give his chequered injury history, why somebody should sign him to something other than a pay-for-play contract.

    How's this stat:
They've played together, on average, 12 times a year since VvD arrived.

he was a backup because he got hurt and lost his place in the first XI.

I think he's a fantastic player and could have been a right legend.
But his body is just not built to meet the demands of professional football.

Still a legend to me. He was here for the most successful period for LFC in the premier league era. All the best to Joel during his recovery. Hope the fans have an opportunity to thank him at Anfield.

Well, that's essentially what I meant. Luckily for us (for themost part) he was able to be fit when Gomez wasn't - except for that one blasted year when they were all crocked.......

Prior to that all three were WC....
