Awww thanks for asking. Successful surgery - I’m alive but in pain. Turns out I tore both my patella tendon and my meniscus NB: come over and we can hobble around the tennis court together
Ugh the memories … from just 4 weeks ago. Haha. I also had a meniscus - in addition to the ACL - but it was a clean up rather than repair. Crazy part - I’m walking with no crutches or brace (I am using the brace outside of the house to be safe for now however) Good luck with the recovery!
Yeah - tough. It’s the self care stuff that’s hard. I was walking around with the temp brace no problem pre-surgery. Obviously super unstable but no pain. Post surgery lots of pain and even more unstable - although it’s only been 24 hrs. I’d imagine once the pain and swelling subsides from surgery, I should be up and about. I must have the brace on for 6 weeks tho.
Isn;t it always just a clean-out? I didn;t think they did repair - or maybe it's a new tech - most of the folks I knew with it were 10 - 15 yrs or so ago
well, at least they worked on the correct leg ..... you do hear some crazy stories - best of luck with the rehabbing.....
The instability is what “scares” me - I mean it’s way better now - but I know I have to be super careful for a few more weeks.
Had that for both my achilles and left tendon. Fortunately technology has progressed towards better braces. Being in a cast over the summer is terrible.
