To all who were offended, I hereby apologize for my
tone and tenor regarding the 20x30 babyass flag.

I will issue individual PM apologies and positive rep
to those who posted in the thread itself; I will issue
positive rep to all who issued negative rep to me on
this matter; the latter caveat applies only to negrep
issued up until this moment :)

Thank you to all involved in the recovery of the Flag.

Congrats to ya'll on your stadium drawings, they actually
look like a proper facilitiy... you Chicago people often
take for granted your situation as an AEG franchise,
for this you should be thankful, as opposed to the
    alternatives (hsg, kraft, etc.)

Yay! I'll assume Brushes Sand means the flag is accounted for and presumably ready to resume its place in WCQ - having only missed the last RFK game, apparently. Props to all the Chicago folk who were part of making this recovery.

The fact the stadium will look like it does is actually is spite of AEG.

We all have Hizzoner Mare Landek to thank. And, possibly the mob but we don't mention that around here.

So what is the final word on what happened to the flag?

Short, quick story on what happened to the Baby Flag:

It was shipped to Fonsos for the game.
It made it to the stadium with Fonsos
It was folded after the games by JJayG and a US Soccer employee.
Said US Soccer employee took it after the game when Fonsos didn't claim it.
Months went by with nobody knowing what happened to it.
I called US Soccer when Jay told me it was taken by one of them.
US Soccer contacted me this morning to say they had it.
US Soccer is going to ship the flag to me this week.

.....on a serious note, I'm glad the flag was found and everything is in order.

    Props for the apology thread.

Kudos to JJayG, Fidlerre and an unnamed US Soccer employee.

I think the shorter version of the story is that no one thought to ask the last guy seen with the actual flag...

Good to see you have an active imagination.

Meanwhile, there are more important things in this world:
    Family
    Community
    Country

Millions of Spanish speaking people refer to everything in either the masculine or feminine sense, and the men from these countries "know the difference."

No flag evokes more emotions than Old Glory.

    YOU'RE A GRAND OLD FLAG
There's a feeling comes a stealing and it sets my brain a reeling
When I'm listening to the music of a military band.
Any tune like "Yankee Doodle" simply sets me off my noodle,
It's that patriotic something that no one can understand.
"Way down South in the land of cotton," melody untiring, ain't that inspiring!
Hurrah! Hurrah! We'll join the jubilee, and that's going some for the Yankees, by gum!
Red, white and blue, I am for you. Honest, you're a grand old flag.

    Chorus
You're a grand old flag, though you're torn to a rag,
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of the land I love,
The home of the free and the brave.
Every heart beats true under red, white and blue.
    Where there's never a boast or brag;
"But should auld acquaintance be forgot,"
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

I'm no cranky hanky panky, I'm a dead square honest Yankee,
And I'm mighty proud of that old flag that flies for Uncle Sam.
Though I don't believe in raving every time I see it waving,
There's a chill runs up my back that makes me glad I'm what I am.
Here's a land with a million soldiers, that's if we should need 'em, we'll fight for freedom!
Hurrah! Hurrah! For every Yankee Tar, and old G.A.R., every stripe, every star,
Red, white and blue, hats off to you. Honest, you're a grand old flag.

    Chorus
You're a grand old flag, you're a high flying flag,
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of the land I love,
The home of the free and the brave.
Every heart beats true under red, white and blue.
    Where there's never a boast or brag;
"But should auld acquaintance be forgot,"
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

Every heart beats true under red, white and blue.
    Where there's never a boast or brag;
"But should auld acquaintance be forgot,"
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
