A few weeks back, someone (I don't recall who) said that Saragosa is one of the best defensive midfielders in the MLS.

I said, "One of the best?!?!?!?!?? blahblahblah...etc."

That person said "get back to me in a few weeks..."

    SO...after a few weeks...

I APOLOGIZE. HE RULES! I can't think of another MLS player I'd rather have in that spot except Mastroeni. You were right, I was wrong. I will have my first-born daughter shipped to yourself immediately.

    Dear Mr. Saragosa,

Here are five reasons the Galaxy are better than that crappy Brazilian team you play for:

    1. You start. ALL the TIME. (here that Mr. Sigi? ALL THE TIME)

    2. Although I have a feeling you would be paid more in Brazil, consider the currency you're paid in. The dollar is stable and it's good anywhere. With the inflation/deflation, etc. back home, who knows how much you will REALLY be making.

    3. Although I hear Brazilian women are hot, I have one word for you regarding S. Cali women..."implants." There are more here than soccer balls in Brazil.

    4. Vagenas makes you look oh so GOOD.

    5. What an opportunity to learn English! (or Spanish, take your pick).

Please stay. Thank you very much.

isn't there a whole lot more plastic surgery in brazil than in the US??? either way, that isn't something to be proud of.

oh yeah, i agree with you for the most part about saragosa. i was a little pessimistic at the start of the season, but he's really played well. let's hope he continues to fit in nicely and improve the better aquainted he gets with MLS

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with Saragosa as well.

It's just that, while I know Sao Paulo is a world class team, it's kind of sad when we're raving about the performance of someone else’s cast off.

Yeah, I know MLS isn't "there yet" but it still makes me think.

However, while I'm drowning in my own self pity and inferiority complex, I have to ask if Sao Paulo has any cast off defenders we could borrow?

Yes, but can you really blame a 22 YEAR OLD for being a "cast off"? He's still quite young.

Don't feel bad. If it weren't for cast offs, the Smurfs wouldn't have anybody to rave about...

Saragosa may be a cast-off, but he's a cast-off (on loan) who needed playing time to boost his skills & confidence and look what he's doing for us. He's young and he has a lot of potential and we're seeing it develop. Hopefully Sigi, the FO & the league are seeing it too.

Saragosa was a hidden gem waiting to be discovered, just like Ruiz. Speaking of discovery, couldn't we sign him to a Discovery Player spot?

Also, Albright is a cast-off from DC. Stunk that place up and stunk up it here until he was moved to right back. Now he's doing wonders.

Saragosa is not really a cast-off as much as he is a loan player. He was brought up through the Sao Paulo system. .. and next Wednesday when they see him working his ass off in the midfield, they'll be proud they sent him here.

Saragosa is 22 yrs old and on loan from a world-famous team. I think he'll be back and starting for his home team w/in 2-3 years. There's no shame in saying he's one of the best defensive midfielders in the MLS. I do think Mastroeni is more physically dominant and I would take Pablo over Saragosa.

So, the MLS isn't a world powerhouse league , yet. Who cares. I like the games. And I think we will shortly become one of the top ten leagues in the world, in talent if not in popularity

Also, the soccer stadiums are going to make a big difference. Look at the difference the HDC has made to the game-atmosphere.

Ditto, true dat, word (take your pick) HDC rules and a similar stadium could greatly improve the fortunes of even the lowliest of MLS teams IMO.
And I dont want to share it with Chivas or any-d*mned-body else! (sorry, off topic)

Saragosa is the freakin' man! (there! back on topic)

That was me. No problem. I like to be right and visionary but having a great player like him to help the Galaxy win is even better.

I will admit when I'm wrong...not often, but it does happen. On this I am humbled.
