We were all ready in with Toluca beating Pachuca.

I'm pissed we could still catch Morelia but we needed more goals.

Go ahead of Morelia means getting an automatic spot in the Libertadores without having to play the stupid Interliga.

We needed goals to cut the goal differential between us and Morelia and widen the differential with Monterrey.

So I was just fooling around with MT's little simulator thing. If Puebla beats Toluca, we beat Santos, Cruz Azul beats Chivas, and Monterrey beats Morelia (all pretty realistic results), the 5 teams (Toluca, Cruz Azul, Morelia, Monterrey, and us) would share the Superliderato on points.

Goddamn, what a competitive tourney. Kinda funny that the perras can still qualify even though they've been an embarrassment this whole tourney.

What do you guys think the liguilla will look like? At this point we could be playing Monterrey in quarters.

 

If that happens(the results) Cruz Azul would be Superlider with 33 points..

 

To be honest, I really don't care if Cruz Azul is at the top.....as long as we grab one of the Libertadores spots, I'm happy.

 

I thought there weren't going to be any more Mexican clubs in Libertadores/Sudamericana/etc.

also yeah my results were off. Cruz Azul would have to tie Chivas, but then they'd have 31, but that's irrelevant. My point was that this tournament has been highly competitive.

 

Toluca and Cruz Azul can't get the Libertadores spot since they are in the Concacaf tournament.

Morelia is the team we have to pass. We have to beat Santos and Monterrey has to beat Morelia. And we have to make up a 3 goal disadvantage on Morelia to qualify automatically to the Libertadores.

If not we have to play the interliga

 

I think we can do it. It certainly isn't impossible.

America wont get shit done this liguilla if they keep playing like this. They start off aggresive and come the 2nd half they hang on to the 1-0 lead. They have to go for the kill, or get tied up(like today)/lose.

 

he had a pretty good 1st half, I think we could have put away more chances. 2nd half I havbe no idea wha happened. Looks like we just wanted to hold on to the 1-0 lead....we haven't been playing all that great....I honestly don't see how we are going to score more than 1 goal per game against monterrey.
