Mag plays in what looks like a 4-2-3-1. Your #ThreeLions to take on Iran! 🦁 pic.twitter.com/uU7SA2TAJB— England (@England) November 21, 2022
For a sold-out game that’s due to kick off in 25 minutes, the Khalifa International Stadium is very far from full. Ticket chaos outside. #FIFAWorldCup pic.twitter.com/NXrlCeIRbO— Henry Winter (@henrywinter) November 21, 2022
Bellingham is some player. Great header, and set up their third. Generally lording it today but then again it's Iran.
I'm a bit surprised Iran haven't been better defensively. England looking solid. And Jude is adding another 20m to his price tag with this performance.
Oh Southgate, why? Takes off 3 of his 4 attacking starters, keeping Kane on, the one he actually needs to protect more than the rest from injury and the one who's played more than anyone this season.
Iran gave England heaps of time on the ball. They will surely feel bitterly disappointed with themselves for that.
MUFC player watch: Shaw played well, took corners etc went 90 Harry hit the post with a header, set up Saka's first, but I felt he was at fault for Iran's first goal, went off at 70 with what looked to be a concussion injury Rashford came on at 70 and looked really sharp, scored a brilliant goal, and had a decisive pass in their 6th
De Jong can't compete physically with Senegal midfield. Might have a difficult time in the EPL. Maybe for the better we signed Casemiro instead.
USA in big qualification trouble now. I can see England playing the B team against Wales after thrashing USA Friday and us going out on goal diff. Had to beat Wales. The penalty call was correct, but holy shit that was some of the worst refereeing I've seen in a long time. There were at least 3 occasions where USA players got booked and Wales players didnt for identical challenges minutes apart from another.
This tweet and their pathetic folding before FIFA shows me that everything they do RE: racism, equality, etc is a pantomime. It's all for show - there is zero substance behind it. It's all meaningless gestures. The kneels are toothless. The fact none of the players are boycotting says the same thing. How strongly do you believe in something that you'll only do it when it's safe? Absolutely embarrassing. No, not embarrassing - shameful. They should be ashamed.
