Ashli Babbit was an oxygen thief, pure and aimple. Is there no one else here with the honesty to just say she had it coming?
How much is the ticket? I'll send you 600 bucks. Don't ever return and please take your family with you. Lol
Of course she had it coming, that guy saying she was "let in by police officers" is nothing short of lunacy. And I'll add that quite a few more of her insurrectionist buddies should have been dealt with swiftly and decisively as well at that time.
And why would that make you happy? Is it because you support Milan and its associations with fascism?
Ah, yes. Because you lot just love to be the victims. Not the women who are terrified on college campuses now because young men are letting it be known that they feel emboldened by having a rapist in the White House to quit asking for consent. Not the mid-level perfectly competent civil servants who have dutifully served for decades, when they could've been making more money elsewhere, with nary a complaint who are about to lose their jobs before they get their pensions. Not the transgender people who stand to be forced to legally re-adopt the gender and name they were assigned at birth. Not the Capitol Police who were beaten on January 6 because the loser of the election knowingly lied to them about the election being stolen. Not Mike Pence, who had to be spirited out of danger that day. Not Liz Cheney, who faces a threat of a military tribunal (which, to be fair, couldn't actually happen) because she wouldn't shut up about what happened that day. Not the 7-year-old kids whose parents were lured to the US because they wanted to work hard who now stand to be "sent home" to places they've never seen. Not the Ukrainians who have fought bravely against tyranny who may now have to fight with one arm tied behind their backs, being abandoned like Trump did to our Kurdish allies. Not the people who want everyone, including the president and his allies, to be held accountable for their crimes before they commit any more. Not our kids who'll face crippling deficits when Trump cuts taxes on the wealthy, kills economic growth with tariffs, and then get the double-whammy of having Social Security and Medicare slashed. Not the consumers who voted for Trump because groceries got expensive who have no idea that every conceivable roundup of economists, from Nobel laureates writing a letter to a Wall Street Journal survey, has found that (duh!) tariffs and an immigration crackdown lead to inflation. Not anyone who has health care through the Affordable Care Act. Not anyone who thinks hiding your tax returns and ending up facing massive fines for lying about one's wealth should be disqualifications for public office. Not anyone who thinks being pals with Jeffrey Epstein should deserve at least a little scrutiny. Not anyone who worries about whether the president can be trusted with classified documents after his Mar-A-Lago exhibitions. No ... you. You're the victim. Because someone on social media made you feel intellectually and/or morally inferior. Poor, poor snowflake. When judgment comes, we'll all try to be nice to you. We won't gloat when you abandon Trump the way you abandoned the Bush family and the Tea Party. And we'll just keep on treating people with respect while you move to your next shiny person who can help you "own the libs" and protect your feelings of insecurity. So, no. I'm not going to call you Hitler. I'm not going to give you the victim status you desperately crave so you can feed of it and rationalize your hate. You'll have to find some other way of doing that. Have a day.
This is our country, dude. If you're Italian, well, in the words of Trump advisor Stephen Miller, "America is for Americans."
Yeah. And the way to shore up the dollar is to alienate all your traditional allies with a good dose of Trump. Great strategic thinking there.
I’m sure these brave resisters who don’t pack their belongings and submit asylum claims will do you one better and are currently plotting an armed resistance like the Free French because obviously their lives are in literal peril and they will definitely put their money where their mouth is.
Don’t expect to see Democrats crying and lying about a stolen election and storming the Capitol, you’ll be disappointed.
I”m sorry for this whataboutism but this is more about whether you believe your own statements. Do you think we are on the brink of a fascist regime? If so your life is literally at stake and I would expect you to do something about it other than whining on the internet. Will you commit to doing so for your family and children, or will they remember you as a passive coward who did nothing in the face of life-ending danger?
I live in sunny California (aren’t you in SF?)…you’re talking nonsense. I don’t worry about myself. I worry about climate change, kids getting shot up in schools, people having access to healthcare, the rights of all people…I care about young people having opportunity, I care about our role in the world and doing what we can to end war, human suffering, I care about this country and how divided we are and how we can get our shit together. Normal things that people like me usually care about. do you think you’re facing life ending danger there in San Francisco? C’mon man. the country’s not on a good path though and I’ll be completely floored if Trump is the answer to any of our problems.
Give them time. When the criminals are deported, bog cities will burn Will you keep illegals hidden in your home??? Say some fools from Lincoln project talk about that.
Mass deportation is his first order of business on day one so that should be interesting since he hasn’t released any of the particulars for how he’s getting it done. Maybe Mexico is going to pay for it?
Yes I do live in SF, and no I don’t think my life is in danger here. just like you don’t actually believe that Trump is literally going to implement a nazi regime. Venezuela Venezuela That said I am born and raised in California and I remember it was a much nicer place to live when I was growing up than it is now.
Perhaps you should read a little bit of history but Eisenhower managed to deport over 1 million illegal immigrants in a single year and that was in 1954. I see no reason why in 2024 with modern technology and a much more established federal infrastructure we can’t double that number.
In 2016 Trump was going to build a big beautiful wall that was supposed to secure the southern border, and Mexico was going to pay for it. Remember that? That wall didn’t get built, he failed to secure the southern border and Mexico didn’t pay for it. But now he’s got some vague concept of a plan to do a mass deportation on day one, and you’re buying it? He’s not deporting anyone besides a few law breakers who would’ve been deported anyway.
I mean sure the Dems will try and block it because they are the de facto open borders party. They will give anyone will a pulse asylum and then block your attempt to deport the migrant even after their asylum claim fails. That’s their policy. That said illegal immigration is now a big political problem for them so perhaps there will be enough pressure to actually do what is necessary to restore order to the system. Or in the alternative the Republicans can simply ditch the filibuster. That would make it easy.
Democrats are not for open borders though. Most think this country has always been pretty generous about letting people in and want to see people coming in legally. You may see some extremists on the left advocating for open borders (wouldn’t surprise me if you’ve encountered a few in SF) but it’s a small minority imo. The nuclear option comes with great peril, as you know, because of the precedent it sets once one side uses it.
You have to look at the effects of the policy. We have distorted the asylum system so that essentially any economic migrant from south or Central America can make an asylum claim. Millions stream in. The system isn’t set up to process that many people so it takes many years to reject the claim. Then when the claim gets rejected, the left cries “Oh we can’t deport these people, they have been here for years.” The whole thing is by design. of course it isn’t only the left. Corporate interests have favored this for years because of the cheap labor. Otherwise they would need to pay legal citizens more. The left loves to claim that immigrants help the economy, but it does so in a very specific way; it undercuts the labor of American citizens to increase corporate stock prices. Why else would corporate interests want immigration? The illegal migrants also compete with lower wage Americans on housing and create huge burdens for our tanking public school systems, not to mention cultural disruption. All of this creates a low trust society.
