I really don’t give a shit who wins these elections. This shit is all more or less pro wrestling anyway. But I do care about this country being torn apart and descending into chaos, which is pretty much happening now, because your team couldn’t handle losing an election in 2016.

This “no u” bullshit that you always respond with is idiotic.

Oh, definitely. The media's quest for sensationalism and "bothsidesism" have normalized the prospect of a felon / sexual assaulter / insurrectionist / fraud who wants to use the government for retribution being a legitimate candidate for president. It's nauseating.

Yeah, I remember when 2016 and January 2017. An angry mob storming the Capitol at the urging of Hillary Clinton. Joe Biden being pulled away into the depths of secret areas of the Capitol to keep him away from people who had broken in and injured many Capitol Police officers.

    ...

    Hey, wait a minute ...

Will you vote? If so, who do you favor at this moment?

And, yet, you still won't commit to acknowledging that Trump lost in 2020.

Ha. Our "team" has accepted that Trump won in 2016. There was interference, yes, but no fraud.

I would say "No, you," if I'd actually say it. But I don't. I actually have asked you multiple times to present evidence to support your position, and you don't.

Not voting. Don’t see myself voting ever again.

He’s not in office. Whether that’s due to fraud will never be known, because your team loses its shit any time someone suggests addressing the numerous vulnerabilities in our election process. Why your team finds this so triggering, I’ll never know.

Wow, such acceptance. Between that, the two frivolous impeachments, and storming the Supreme Court and the Capitol (muh insurrection!) because you were butthurt about Kavanagh’s confirmation, you guys really are really putting on a masterclass in accepting things.

I don’t know if I’d call “him” a moron. Given its inability to interpret your avatar (it thinks you’re flying the sickle and hammer), I’m suspecting a bot. It doesn’t pass the Turing test.

He mentioned his profile birthdate is made up, not his real birthdate. That made me wonder why he chose that date, so I looked it up for its significance - it's when the French (9th Army Corps) and British (51st Highland Division) surrendered to Rommel in WW2. Given his comments in this thread, I suspect there is a neo-Nazi thing going on with him.

The thinking in 2016 was, "Oh, Trump's full of bluster, but he's not THAT bad. He used to support Hillary, after all. He'll rant for the base, but then he won't do any real harm."

First of all, yes, he did some harm. He messed up our standing in the world, which Biden has had to repair. He cut taxes on the wealthy and still didn't get as much economic growth as we've seen under Democratic presidents and merely added to the deficit. He bungled the COVID response, which meant our economy tanked even worse than some of our peer nations and many more people died. He allowed anti-science to take root. He appointed judges who are mere partisan lackeys. His family and their businesses directly benefited from government business at taxpayer expense.

Second of all, he did all that when he did NOT have free rein. In a second term, he would. The Supreme Court has ruled that he's all but unassailable and can't be held accountable for anything. The reasonable Republicans who did whatever they could to keep him in check in his first term are all gone, replaced by full-bore white Christian nationalists who want to purge anyone who is insufficiently loyal.

I'm not moving, but I won't be surprised if some people in my family get dual citizenship if at all possible. Especially those who are trans -- Trump wants to make them use the names and genders they were given at birth, because freedom!

Trump and his ilk make noise about supressing the Freedom of the Press. What would be the his first act(s), how would those be countered, and what would you personally do about it?
A move to silence the free press would be a serious matter, for me.

(Disclosure, I speak German and Spanish, have connections to countries that speak those languages, even have family who are already in said places, so I do have options that not everyone does).

    This.

It's pretty stupid to not understand that if Trump wins, America will no longer be the best place for people from certain demographics to live, if ever it was. Things will improve for some (wealthy White males who haven't been caught with a boy yet), and they will get worse for others.

Gays, trans people, and women young enough to get pregnant would be better off in some Scandinavian country. I'm at a loss as to why that's being considered some kind of news by some posters here.

Today should give me a good idea if I am moving to France on January 2nd or not. Of course, that orange Hitler-loving ********ing ********er could also prolong my not knowing by ********ing with the ********ing electoral system in this country.

Gee, why don't you tell this forum what you really think sometime. ;)

As for the electoral system, Trump did win the popular vote also.

I suggest that you learn why the Founders set up an electoral college system. The name "United States of America" means that it is a union of sovereign states who gave some responsibility and power to a weak (at the time) federal government. The setup was meant to have a limited central government so that we wouldn't end up like Britain.

The Dems continue to listen to the coastal elites who are out of touch with the reality of the average American.

And with an irony not funny at all, the coastal elites will be fine, but the average American just totally ********ed themselves.

No, we average Americans will do just fine. I am more worried about the BRICS grouping which is growing in number and has a stated goal of replacing the US dollar as the reserve currency. If that happens, the US finances are going to be in for a shock.
