I just finished reading "Long Range Goals: The Success Story of Major League Soccer" and thought it was a very well written book. Just curious if anyone knows of any other MLS books besides that, the Beckham Experiment, and Soccer In a Football World? Are there any others? Thanks.
There is A Massive Season. The Story behind the 2008 MLS champions the Columbus Crew. It explains why Columbus is nicknamed the Massive and goes deep into what it is like being a Columbus Crew Fan.
There was that nice coffee table book they made for the 10th season that had some great old photos from the (now) old days. [ame="http://www.amazon.com/MAJOR-LEAGUE-SOCCER-Celebration-Seasons/dp/B000FI60SI"]Amazon.com: MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER: A Celebration of 10 SeasonsÂ…[/ame]
Soccer in a Football World by Dave Wangerin is about the development of soccer in the US and has a few chapters on MLS.
I am getting this book too Sirks book is good, The chapter on the Plane trying to land in Hurricane force winds that was pretty scary and funny , He gives good insight on that year and it's very funny
Read this book. Its a fascinating read and covers soccer in the USA from the awarding of the world cup till just before the 2010 world cup. It talks about MLS a fair bit. Ive read long range goals, its a good book as well.
Don't know if anyone ever heard of this obscure book: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/030740787X/ref=sib_dp_pt#reader-link"][/ame]
Other than the original poster who said he was looking for books other than that particular book? Possibly one or two...
It's a good book. It goes into detail on how MLS survived its infant years and how they got to where they are today.
