That's the website for Omiya Ardija in the J-2 league, which appears to be the team for (Jun) Marques Davidson formerly of California and AGSS -- John O'Brien's old club. He's a young guy -- an '83.

I am assuming he is at least part American for now and would love to know if the team site says anything about him.

Perhaps of interest to some, OA is also the current club of former Colorado Rapid Dely Valdes.

And while we're on the subject, anyone know what this page says?

I'm guessing it has something to do with Japanese players (or players of Japanese descent, since it refers to guys like John Maessner and former US youth players Yamauchi and Futagaki) who have played overseas.

My reading isn't as good as my speaking, but I'll check it out when I get home. Can't see the characters on this computer.

Why don't you ask this question in the Asia Forum?

I think that's right - "Japan overseas players". It lists Maessner's teams (including Saarbrucken?) and mentions that his mother is Japanese.

I skimmed the site, but couldn't find mention of Davidson -- other than his picture on the team page.

It's weird that he's listed with Maessner on that other site -- but it doesn't say how he's part Japanese.

Here's his picture. Doesn't really look mixed to me, but you would think he is. Or maybe he's adopted. I think it says he's from Tokyo.

It also says he plays midfield and he was born in 1983.

On second look at the second link -- it does seem to suggest that his place of birth is Tokyo and that his nationality is Japanese.

The second section is a list of both Japanese players who have played in the US and US players who have played in Japan.

Info on US players in list:

Davidson - exact same info as the Omiya website

Sakuda and Shunpei - info in English

John Maessner - FC Saarbrucken (Germany) -> Miami Fusion -> DC United -> Tampa Bay ('00)
Mother is Japanese; former US National Team member

Taki Vohalis GK - US team member at '97 U-17 World Cup tournament

Nozomu Yamauchi - North Carolina University Student ('01) - US national U-17 member

Ryan Futagaki - UCLA student ('01) - US team member at U-20 World Cup tournament in Nigeria

NoSix - What makes you think it's US players who have played in Japan? It doesn't list what's his name from Williams (drawing a blank -- had his leg broken by Balboa) who I believe may have played in Japan. I think it is Japanese players (or of Japanese descent) who play or have played abroad. I can't read the site here at work, but I think they do the same for Canada and Mexico, (as well other countries).

Edit: check out the front page --
