I heard a rumor at work that the mens' national team may play a game in November at RFK and that possible opponents could be Brazil or Argentina....Anyone else hear any rumors that the MNT may play anyone at RFK this fall?

November 17th is an international game date. One report had the US playing Australia in Arizona but that one apparently fell through. Another report has the US playing Brazil in the Meadowlands. The Post recently reported that RFK was trying to get the US game for that date with both of those teams mentioned as possible opponents. I would expect most of the European stars to come up "injured" and not make the trip no matter who we play or where.

Hey, the Mudhens had a good year this season and won their league!! and their stadium is nicer than the Yankess, but we get your point.

It would be Brazil in name as I suspect the R's wouldn't make the trip, but either way if they play at RFK I plan on being there since I heard the atmosphere is great in the stadium. Maybe if it is Australia fans will actually cheer for the US!

Don't count on it. There will probably be 50,000 Aussies coming out of the woodwork just for this. Such is the curse of the Nats when they play at RFK.

They will all bring Kangaroos to release and beat up on people on the lower decks as well. In addition, the USSF will be banning anyone with an English last name from the lower deck! You will be forced to go through your Hispanic named boss to get tickets!

They should give us the game since we are missing out on MLS Playoffs.

Of course, Aussie fans would deride all DC United players on the Nats.....seeing that we've already aligned ourselves with the Kiwis.

    Any more word on this?

I really kinda hope this doesn't happen. I would prefer to drive down to Charleston for the U20 World Cup Qualifiers. If it is US/Australia at RFK vs U20 WCQing, with both being 4 1/2 hours away, that would be a tough call.

Of course I've already seen one WNT game, 14 MNT games, the MNT All-Stars, and two U17 scrimmages this year. Throw in the 2 WNT games next month, and I'm in red, white, and blue overload.

Will we play in an oval and change our uniforms to be tight, sleeveless shirts and short shorts?

Are you interested in adopting a son to accompany you to the games?

I hope not, considering the *fine* performance of a certain other USA team that plays in sleeveless shirts in Indy a few weeks ago...
