Wait, wait, wait........Wait ooooone minute there, Mr Rickles. I have it. And yes, MLSTopShelf, I believe it is worth it.
I was lead to believe that I could watch all the games every week, but I'm currently out of the country and I haven't had a chance to watch anything on it. Is this true?
I have direct kick on direct tv. ( I did not know there was a dish version) I like it for the price. The one major negative is that you must record in six hour clocks of time. ( One two recordings at a time on directv) So if you are not physically home on a Saturday to tell the machine to stop recording after one game ends, it will not switch over and record a third or fourth game. That, and the overall high cost of satellite, is why I am cutting the cord, and going apple tv exclusively after the season ends. I will then order MLS Live which ostensibly is more like on demand. I will miss few games, except for blackout games and NBCSC games --which are not streamed, or at least that's my understanding. Someone tell me if anything I said is incorrect.
on mls.live local market blackouts are available 24hours after kick-off. network blackouts are available 48hours after kick-off. but you never have to tape anything thanks to the 'replay' function. personally i like the 'jump ten seconds ahead' toggle. when i watch a replay, on goal kicks and restarts i skip the dead time. a full game ends up taking a little over an hour.
Hopefully you didn't pay much, because it is no comparison to MLS Live. Altho, you can't run MLS Live outside the USA/Canada. Didn't you see the discussion about MLS Live elsewhere on BS? I had DK for 2-3 years, and MLS Live (after getting thru all the glitches in the first 4 weeks) is really a pleasure for us.
I just moved into my new place for college and I need to have something to do during the week so having all of the games recorded is going to be a life saver for me. I wasn't sure if MLS Live let you record the games.
You don't have to record any games on MLS Live because they are all archived. So you can stream any game after a 48-hour waiting period (that's the worst part of the service). There is a short period where you can watch the replay the same day, and after that you wait 48. But in the meantime, you can watch a compressed game or the highlights. Because there are so many games, I now mostly watch one of the short versions.
We've had Direct Kick on DISH (or DK's predecessor) for ten years or so. Wouldn't go a summer without it. You can always supplement with the archived stuff on mlssoccer.com.
