Hey everyone. I’m new to the board and just wondering if anyone has checked out the new high-definition cable service called VOOM? VOOM has a HD channel called World Sport and it shows league soccer games from all over the world with awesome visual detail. You can order it online or at Sears and you get 38 other great HD channels.
Smells like VOOM's PR firm heard of BigSoccer Posts: 1 "awesome visual detail" "You can order it online or at Sears " "38 other great HD channels" Nonetheless, anybody seen it?
Haven't seen it because none of the Sears stores have it functioning properly. Sears sales guys in TV department are not properly trained and know nothing about it. Display is not up and running. The games shown so far are all taped La Liga games-- none are live or even same-day delay. The most recent showing of a game was one that was 3 weeks old. From what I have been told by those who have ordered it, the picture quality is outstanding, but obviously it's not as interesting to watch a game that was played several weeks, or several months, in the past. Also, FYI, VOOM currently does NOT have 39 HD channels and a lot of the 23 HD channels they currently have are repetitive programming. It does not have any ESPN channels yet, and you can't get your local channels through VOOM if you are outside of your local broadcasting tower's range-- the equipment does not pick up the locals from satellite but from a regular antenna attached to the dish.
They just got me hooked to VOOM boy what a picture on these old La lega soccer games wow,WOW. The rep on the phone told me they will have HDnet on line very soon. My system as follows: Sharp DLP PJ with 96x54 with 16x9 screen. I highly recommend the Voom HD package. The HD in Voom lookes better then TWDC and dtv. The soccer games are old but since it is in HD I watch it over and over again. You guys have see it for your self a soccer game in HD to really understand the joy of watching soccer in HD.
