did anyone make it out to the tryouts this past weekend? if so, any studs? anyone with potential to be picked up for the practice squad and/or full squad? JHF
We had a local boy from down here go to the tryouts. He's already signed an MLS contract; says he made the reserve team. Does Dallas have a reserve team? Is that the same as your practice team?
Dallas has no official reserve team - not the way Chicago, Metros or DC have. Anyone notice the pattern. AEG teams? With Crew stadium and their own practice facility is there any reason besides being cheap that Columbus doesn't have a reserve team?
The Metros don't really have a reserve team. They just sort of lend the name to a mostly ethnic amateur team that plays in a North Jersey league. No one is getting paid to play for that team.
He is probably talking about the Texas Tornados, a PDL team operating out of Eulles. They are trying to become the Burn reserve squad and were co-hosting the try-outs.I doubt if the Burn signed anyone from that event..
was anyone actually on hand, i talked to someone who said it was at utd. i was just seeing if anyone went and if anyone caught any names of the rising stars in dallas. was there any "big name" players there, such as a college standout or the next player to fall into the unwritten mls rule of local talent staying put rule? JHF
Can't remember his name. But the guy who plays up front with Adu on the u-17's, I think, was there.alot of guys with minor league or indoor experience.
not really Jamie Watson is a Texas kid who was appoached about leaving UNC and going P-40, he declined. If he was spotted at a try-out I would think he was home on break and looking for something to do. Hopefully the he and/or the Burn looked into the implications of his NCAA eligibility, it may be a problem to attend a pro tryout even though he was treating it as a kick around. Was it Watson?
(shakes fist) damn Jamie Watson, if I only would'a known back in Junior High that he was going to be this good, I would have got him to teach me a thing or 2.
so if this is a PDL tryout, it isnt any violation. almost every college player plays pdl during the summer, if this is the case then how can it be a violation to tryout for a pdl tea, but not a violation to play in the pdl league?? kinda confused as it doesnt add up all the way. anyways, did anyone see how he played? proved he should have gone p40 or not? was he the only guy there that anyone on here knows?
