It's an Italian channel that broadcasts in the U.S. I've heard that they show Serie A and Serie B matches. For $15 a month I can add it to my cable line-up. Unfortnately, I don't know whether the one I would get would show any sports. Like BBC, there appears to be more than one channel. It looks like they also have a sports network as well.

$15 a month is a lot of money for one channel, so I want to make an informed decision.

You get RAI International. The website is www.international.rai.it

They show Serie A every Sunday, and they show either the Saturday evening game or the Sunday evening game. The Serie A program they show is very good. You get to see every goal that each team scores. After the game is finished, the Higlight show 90 Minuto comes one, and shows all of the highlights of every game. RAI International also shows The Italian Cup matches and National team friendlies and qualifiers.

    Thanks for the information.

So basically I would get one Serie A game and a highlights show? I'm not sure if that's worth $15 a month.

2 Serie A games a week, the Coppa Italia, a highlights show, and most National Team games.

You usually get a Serie B game thrown in somewhere as well. Don't forget LDS as well.

One more question, is there a variety to the games they show, or is it mainly AC Milan and Juventus every week?

They show a much better variety of teams than, say, Gol TV. They usually go for the best matchup of each week, rather than whomever Juve or Milan is playing.

On my system (Charter) I get one of the matches for free from that network per week via The International Channel..
But for just $4.99 per month I get both Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Sports Espanol and also Gol TV plus other regional Fox Sports Net Channels..
All the Spanish language subscription channels can be had for another $4.99 which includes ESPN Desportes (all the champions league matches and Holland and more) and a couple of other networks that show soccer.. Plus being in LA we get all the over the air Spanish language channels..
In short.. Nothing to complain about here.. More footie than a human can possibly consume though I try.. ;)

$15 is a great price. On a weekly basis you will always get 2 to 3 matches per weekend, plus La Domenica Sportiva, 90 Min..

If you break it down ...

It's less than $2 per match, then you get ALL of the bonuses! La Domenica Sportiva, 90 Minuto, Coppa Italia matcheS per, Italian NT matcheS.

Let's not forget everything else RAI International shows.. ;)

Didn't the International Channel stop showing Serie A matches toward the end of last season? I thought they switched to an all-Asian format. I don't get the channel, but that's what I'd read.

Yeah that's what I heard too.

RAI - good deal if you can get it. Everything else they show is usually crap, but the soccer coverage is cool.

No kidding. I watch Sportsera each day but that's pretty much it in the summertime. I do like to watch the Giro d'Italia each May, and my husband likes to watch Fiorello specials whenever they come on.

I really don't get the appeal. The humor must be lost in translation. That or my husband is in the closet. Hope not! ;)

Yeah, on my cable system the International channel became AZN, an all-Asian network.

So is it better in Italy to buy the Sky cable box than just get RAI?

If any of you are interested, you can watch SportItalia on your PC by downloading this program...

    http://www.sopcast.org/

It works pretty well for me. I'm not sure what they'll show when the season starts because for some reason they don't release their TV schedule until the day of. At around 5:15 (Central Time), they'll be showing the "friendly" match between Stuttgart and Siena.
