what is this doing in the other sports forum? this should be in entertainment forum... wwe is a joke!
Rich! Wait... you mean... all this time I have been watching WWE Raw and Smackdown... ... and the whole thing is FAKE??? You mean it's not a sport???
poor, poor andy... no, sorry, it isnt real... neither is the tooth fairy, the easter bunny, or... you get the point
It IS getting worse lately. The whole HHH/Kane necrophilia thing is completely distasteful. Sounds like something one of the MLS Rivalries regular members cooked up and thought was pretty damn funny. Some of what the WWE does is pretty good. I like some of the storylines they have going on. It's just like a bad soap opera.
yes it is fake, however its entertainment not so much sport...shoulda post in entertainment. wwe is sometimes stupid but it also gets pretty intense aswell
yep i hate to break it to ya. just like Santa, its not real. I think pro wrestling should be fake cuz if it becomes real sports, wrestlers will die often.
Although its not real. It is a good form of entertainment and some of the story lines they have hare pretty funny. what i dont like is this whole necrephilia story line that totaly ruins the show and no one belives any way. WWE need to realise that the stories have to have some form of realism. Take for instance The whole Austin Versus McMahon storry line. That was popular most people hate there boss and they could relate to it, who in there right mind can relate to necrephilia. TO the dudes who said bring back Hogan and the rock? You can not be serious they have no talent what so ever. Angle, Benoit and Jericho, Lesnar and RVD are the future of the wwe
Actually, no. It's just one of many "bad" things that we enjoy They really need to work on better storylines though.
They need Austin. And yeah, I started a thread in FFA too: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=423903#post423903 Why not in "other sports"? They guys are acting but hell, they are "athletes". The storylines suck because they've been pushing Brock Lesnar too much. The guy has no charisma whatsoever - and since they're jamming him down people's throats it's not really taking off. To me at least. They used the wrong angle for the guy. Think about it - he didn't win the intercontinental title - he went straight to the WWE title. They have to face it. Brock isn't a big ticket player - at least not in the way they're pushing him. And they probably should have kept Hogan a bad guy longer. He was hilarious in WCW with the NWO. There are a lot of things they could have done there. And the Rock... WWE doesn't really need him anymore. All the guy ever does is job for someone else, like he did for Lesnar. The first Wrestlemania he ever won was this past one... and that was partly to pass the torch from Hogan. Then he won the title just to job to Lesnar so he could go off and make movies. Much like the last match he was in - he will be booed if and when he does come back. But the real news.... WWE just got "Big Poppa Pump". Great. Another character that they can ruin like they did Kurt Angle and Undertaker (and Austin if he would have hung around).
Wrestling has always been an off and on thing for me. I thought they killed the nWo thing way too quickly. It would've been great to see the second coming of the nWo like the first time in WCW when all they did was interfere in matches and beat up the announcers and what not. Plus they fired Hall who is my all time favorite. I miss survey time. Does anyone else miss the old Undertaker? Like when he was actually an undertaker instead of what he is now: some Harley riding piece of white trash. He was scary and enigmatic in his prime.
Yep,,,WWE is definitely the national passion , Something I agree with you alex "Those guys are acting but they are athletes".....kind of sounds like Rivaldo to me
I just keep hearing of the rumors occasionally that Lesnar may turn face, since he does get somewhat of a "face" reaction when he appears... however I have heard that Paul Heyman keeps putting the kibosh on the whole idea. The Rock is better as an actor. He's pretty funny in his promos, but other than that, he doesn't do too much for me. The only really funny thing that happens these days are the Booker T/GoldDust promos - completely fricking hilarious
10 years ago Kane was meant to be some burnt out freak that had no friends and lived alone and never went out. The wwf story writers realy need to get there act together. Also is it me or is Kane a diffrent Guy from the one that we saw before he got injured. I dont think they need wife beating scum on there programs but seeing as they are now showing necrephilia it wouldnt surprise me if he came back and had a story line about it.
In response to otterulz, Hall has blown several chances, both in WWE in the old WCW, due to booze and other personal problems. It's a shame since he's a good worker and a big player when his head's screwed on straight. He's in NWA/TNA as far as I know.
Re: Re: any WWE fans I think he's a bit leaner than before the injury, plus his mask is a bit different.
This is an uninformed opinion held by many. I feel very strongly about this. Yes, the outcomes of wrestling matches are predetermined, but no, wrestling matches are not strictly *fake*. Those guys do pull punches and (usually) take care not to hurt each other, but still, you can only fake whacking a guy with a folding chair or jumping off a ladder onto a lightly padded cement floor so much. Fans of the WWF/E will remember Mick Foley having one of his teeth ejected through his nose during a match. Not part of the script. Also, while good matches are few and far between these days (there's sort of a de facto inverse relationship between "good technical wrestling" and "sports entertainment"--the golden ages of pro wrestling have been periods where they found a good balance between these two competing factors), the fact is that it requires quite a bit of athleticism to put on a high quality wrestling match. To do the things that they do without killing themselves and their opponents, *good* technical wrestlers like Ric Flair (pre-breast development), Chris Benoit, Bret Hart, Eddy Guerrero, Curt Hennig (pre-breasts, again), etc. have to be better athletes than 99.999% of the population. So if you like, don't think of pro wrestling as a competition sport, like soccer or baseball, where two opposing sides try to defeat each other. Think of it as a performance sport, where two or more people work together to put on an exhibition of the technical aspects of their craft. It's alot like figure skating with more pronounced story lines. Rant over.
