Anyone been or heard accounts of scrimmages...any unsigned free agents hanging around we should know about lurking in our camp? anyone not there who you thought should be there?
I'll be at the scrimmage on March 16, so I'll brief everyone. I'm sure, sebe and chargefans and charge! will be there too. It's hoffmann and scasna and the draftees of interest, plus the play of smith. right now, conditioning might be a bigger priority in camp than tactical play itself.
what makes you think that ol skicap wont be there nahhh im gonna try to make it but no promises...after all my car is in limbo and it is quite far to philly. but who knows...i may just be there hehe i take it no waived players besides our own have walked into camp.
alfiler is in San Diego... I'd think anyone who wants to make a roster, probably would try a camp where there isn't as much dept of talent. Misaki will be borderline making the team, so what chance does a free agent have?? I think it's pretty clear who the final 16 will be, and the 2+2 are pretty easy to pick too. only injuries might shake things up
I can think of only one walk in myself and that would be for political reasons. or if the makinen trade gets voided...which is a whole nother can of worms.
Ronnie Fair lacks sufficient skill to make this team. Only injury could get her here. Krikorian has his ideal image of any player, and that player MUST be able to pass the freakin ball, and display talent on the ball itself... It's not quite clockwork orange, but that's the game Krikorian has in mind.
which is why we are a winning ballclub and loudy foudy inc have never gotten off the ground despite their stacked offenses. actually the charge is the only team where the founders DONT wear the pants in the family...again why we are a winning team.
I'd agree there's far less political decisions on the Charge than the average other team. I don't see Boston as an overly political side nor Carolina nor San Jose. And NY with Sermanni is going in the right direction. I think reality eventually intervenes, and teams who make decisions based on name and past performance, IGNORING current performance will be treated poorly in the standings.
how do you explain Mia United in Fc2 then j/k other than them your right the political teams do bad (Power and Spirit) and the non political teams do good.
Steffi Jones was the key to DC last year, with her she settled them in the back. Teams who defend best are the teams who did well. When you can defend good things happen. Mia has a ton of mileage on her, and my belief is WC is her more important agenda, so not running herself into the ground in WUSA will be important. Just like Prinz knee ailment, with her priority being September, might cause her to be overcautious in WUSA. I wonder if wusa coaches, Gabarra and Entlich will listen to national team coaches?
gabbara is a stooge as is most of the freedumb staff if DCUpope is to believed, and sure enough them going to FC2 wasnt through much help of gabby hed probs give ape whatever she wants. Entilich you know better than i do so i wont comment on him...your the resident expert on him.
I can't say I know Entlich, only a guy I work with played at Virginia Tech and said Entlich likes attacking soccer, in the Arena style. Gabarra's wife can play though, go back to 1991 World Cup semi-final and her hat trick against the Germans in the semis. Jennings was a cross between a speed player and a power player, really nice dribbling skills to beat defenders one on one. Still I think the old stuff about WUSA and the Founders is a lot like the NBA and Michael Jordan. Standards are different for those in a certain class. The elite half dozen, this is fine, but it's current performance which should count, NOT what you did previously.
