Maybe just a few weeks early for this but here it goes. What has surprised people about Bayern so far: players, Magath, formations, success, still some weak links , etc...?

I think most people have been nicely surprised about players like Scholl and Guerrero. I guess I have been nicely surprised about Hargreaves in the last few weeks, who I thought would be transfered this summer. The last year or so he has been fairly inconsistent and I dis not think with the personalities in the midfield he would get much playing time.

I have been somewhat dissapointed with the defense this year, but not too bad. Though they have a better record over the last 8 games in the Bundesliga (1st 7 games: 9 goals------last 8 games: 7goals), but they still let in some stinkers.

well maybe not the most insightful, but would be interested in what you guys have to say

Guerrero is a big surprise, anyone telling me he would have as many goals as he does before the season might have sounded foolish. But here he is scoring regulaly with little playing time.

I am surprised Wolfsburgh is doing so well. mainz too. But Bayern seem to be adept at the patchy streaks. When they last won the title they had a bad opening and then proceeded to dominate the rest of the way. This year they have had many ups and downs and may be turning the corner. The lack on consisntency is normal.

What is surprising is their play without Ballack being as effective as he has been.

Guerrero and Kahn. Guerrero because he has stepped up his skill. Kahn, I am amazed that he can still perform at a high level for such a massive club. I thought will all the injuries, controversey, and his general attitude that his game would tank......but it really isn't the case. I'm not the President of the Oliver Kahn Fan Club.......more like the Treasurer..just kidding. But seriously, his ability as a GK is astounding. He is the best GK I have ever seen in the short 4-5 yrs that I have followed football.
