I personally wouldn't mind it. There are few 30m pound players out there, but he could be worth it, considering his age. Replace Bellamy with him and add some depth to the outside and the Reds could be in business.

What I like most about him is his Carra like drive. He is EPL tested, and he produces when the stakes are highest.

So, anyone else think a Tevez move is a good one, or for that matter a realistic one?

I think he could be. He could be our own version of Wayne Rooney for probably less than half the price. He's already had his adjusment period in the EPL so he could fit in right away, and he could potentially be one of the best players in the league.

The doubters will say that he plays the same position as Kuyt and is not prototypical goal scorer that we still need. The way I see it is that you don't pass on the opportunity to sign someone as good as Tevez.

I say go for it. What a story that would be, he and Masch going to England to play for WestHam, then ending up with the Reds and helping us win the Prem next year!

Would love to see him in a red shirt, but at the cost of other potential signings?! I think when we buy another forward, goals has got to be #1 priority. If we could afford to bring little Micky back as well...

Half way through the season- I would've said you were kidding- but if he can continue his end of season form- then why not.

I would fully support a Tevez move. He is adapting well in the premiership. I think a partnership with Crouch and Tevez would be unstoppable.

i wouldnt spend more that 18 million on tevez......i wuold rather spend that money on coming brasilian striker alexander pato, who ive said before looks a real talent....he must be what, 19 years old and in the championships here in south america shinned way more than Lucas, so would be someone for the future.....remeber that not always quality is expensive, if not just ask milan for the 4.7 million pounds they baught kaka for....i still cant belive it!!!

plus hes not the 20+ striker were looking for and im happy with kuyt playing the 2nd striker role, so i dont think hes worth it...unless we use him as a winger....

IMO, we must buy a striker that is acclimated or can acclimate quickly to the English game. Bent and Tevez are good options, not that I would hate a striker like Villa or Torres come into the team, but I would really like to see a striker that we can bank on.

Liverpool has been notorious for it's slow starts in the last couple of years, if we want to challenge for the title, we must win games out of the gate. It's not worth buying a striker that may take 1/2 the season to get into a scoring groove, that's why taking a risk on players from other leagues is a big one.

I'm neutral on Tevez. I really like him as a player, I think he would flourish under Rafa. However, I am not convinced that he is the type of striker that we need. I guess I am more in favor of buying Darren Bent, and spending the big bucks on a winger. Unless we can get Tevez for a bargain (and no shady dealings) price or in a cash+player (someone mentioned Bellamy) deal, I will echo previous statements from others not to spend a ton of money on him.

I read somewhere (sorry, I can't find the link right now) that Pato would probably cost a club (there are others interested) 10 M. Can he play in the Prem, cause I know there is some rule about international appearances?

Tevez is the #1 priority for me this summer. I think he could be the answer at striker for us. The guy is a bulldog and scores lots of different ways. He'd be cheaper than Villa, Torres, or Eto'o and he's proven in the Prem. He'd probably like to come to Liverpool - I'm sure Masch will put in a good word.

Spend 15-18M on Tevez. We don't need to buy many more players and he'll be worth it.

As much as he's shined in the last couple of weeks, he isn't what we need.

We already have Kuyt as a supporting striker. Tevez is not the goal poacher that will solve our problems. Plus, he'll be too expensive and I doubt he'll want to be benched.

We need a Klose or Berbatov.

yeah, fully agree but pato has a $20 million buy out fee or something ridiculous like that, he is 18, and a gun! if we could get him from internacional that would be awesome. it would be interesting to see how well he would adapt to the english game, he is a very good counter attacking player that has great pace and skills.

having said all that, we next a player who can come in and score goals straight away, tevez could do this nicely, or maybe even berbatov??

Since West Ham finally cemented him in the starting lineup 10 games ago, they have had seven wins and three losses, with Tevez having 7 goals and 5 assists. There hasn't been a more dominant player in the league the last two months. He's figured out the Premiership game and has more natural ability than Klose, Villa, or Torres. For me, it's a no-brainer who to target.

I think, that of all the players you mentioned, Tevez would have the biggest influence on our League points total.

We often find ourselves in the opponent's 1/3, with little space, begging for creativity.

Whether Tevez is a "support/second/shadow striker" in those situations is irrelevant. He'll be asked to make something out of nothing, on/or around the box. He can do that.

Torres - would need space behind the defenders and good service.
Klose - would need good aerial service
Villa - would need space behind the defenders and good service...

Tevez needs the ball and a small window of opportunity to get a shot off. The more I think about it, the better I think he is for us.

Has Tevez ever been linked to Liverpool?
Has Liverpool (The club) ever hinted that Tevez is a target?
Has West Ham ever said they wanted to sell Tevez?

If they have, then show some links. If not then this should go into some fantasy wish list thread. Nice to have but why are we devoting a thread this?

I would be happy with Tevez or Torres, I think we need to let bellamy go and get a young striker with speed.

You have a point. West Ham just barely escaped relegation, I don't think they're in a hurry to sell off their most dominant player right now.

But it would've been nice to see him in RED!!

i think tevez is a very good player but kuyt and crouch deserve a place in the squad. personally if we want to buy a good striker i think about Villa because he is better than Tevez and can really be a key player in the liverpool team. if we buy Villa he will surely play all the matches because he s better than our current strikers. but if we buy Tevez i think that kuyt prouved that he s as well as the argentinian striker. the main problem is that Valencia will sell Villa for 70m. it s a lot of money and that pushes us to buy Tevez instead. it s not good to spend all the money on one player. we need good players and we need young players too for the futur of the club

well, hes played as much as lucas in the señor setup and is a starter for the under 20, so i wouldnt expect a problem if lucas can manage to get the work permit.

i dont follow much brasilian futbol, but as i said before in the south american championship he did look class, atleast from what i saw...he didnt start the game cause he was injured, but he came on in the second half and was way above any other player in the field... he even scored ,if i am not mistaken...... Theres always a risk ofcourse, but i wouldnt hesitate in buying him if we could.

Very good read about Carlotos, if you want to know him better in person.http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premiership/west_ham/article1774775.ece

    Highly recommended.:)

This opinion by one poster on the article says very much about Carlos:

The M62 Derby; Manchester derby;Gunners-Spurs;England-Germany [=all in football] or India-Pakistan in cricket: all these rivalries pale in comparison with Brazil-Argentina rivalry/enmity in football. As one of my Latin friends said dramatically 'its a fight between the lion and tiger to establish who is the stronger cat''! For an argentinian to go to Brazil and take that team to the title and being voted as their player of the year by fanatic brazilian fans says everything about this pint sized guy. I hope he doesnt follow the path of the other but more famous pint sized Argentinian footballer

but if we keep talking about players Premiership ready, why not move for Benni McCarthy? give Bellamy+4m, and I think we'd have him. he is the type of 'goal every other game' striker we need.

hey, i don't understand why people keep talking about villa.
the spaniard who supposedly had all the tools to succeed in england (strong, good in the air, great finisher) was a HUGE flop.
villa is a great finisher, yes. he is a lightweight. he isn't a 'there isn't any space, but i'm going to create a shot out of nothing' type forward. he isn't extremely quick. I just don't see him ever succeeding for us.
Klose is rumored to want out of Bremen. Great, buy him.
McCarthy offered himself up to any team in the UCL. Great, buy him and get rid of Bellamy in one fell swoop.
Tevez will give us that creative ability we've been lacking. Great, buy him and possibly send Bellamy off in the other direction.

im gonna put this name out there and its not just because im an aussie, MARK VIDUKA!!! 19 goals this year and he was injured for part of the season, you talk about the in form strikers in the premiership....he is definately up there.

He is out of contract with burra as seems to be hesitant to sign again. he is an absolute gun who can score 20 goals next year, we can then spend the money on getting a young gun who will be ready in 1-2 years.

he has scored 19 goals in an average team, imagine wat he could do in a decent team with stevie, mach, xabi and harry feeding him in. we all remember how well him and harry usesd to link up at leeds!!!

i seriously reckon we should make a move for him. i dont think tevez will make the move

Is too much being made about Tevez supposedly no longer taking English lessons? It might not even be true. For me he's been one of the 3 most exciting players in England this year (behind Ronaldo and Drogba). I think he could be a tremendous addition.
