I'm still hoping there is one in 32nd st manhattan. If not, then a flushing resident like myself only has few choices. 1. Dae dong manor 2. Kum kang San restuarant 3. Any local Korean church has a gymnasium I went to dae dong for our first two and they have these old style (pre 2000) like projectors which you can't see anything it doesn't matter where you were seated. The projector can't project a decent quality picture and they even kept the lights on. Which didn't help either. Buy outside in that floor, there was these flat screen TVs which was much better to watch. So that where I'm pretty much going to watch it there. Anyone else has a plan to watch? I kept mentioning that there should be a public gathering, but it's probably not a good idea if the weather doesn't help. Because last few days there in nueva York has been brutal to say the least
IDK, 'cept for the few odd shirts here and there I don't even feel like there's a WC going on. Don't expect a street viewing as it hasn't happened yet.
Yea, there will be no street viewings in NYC but there are plenty of options to watch the game. There's plenty of sports bars to watch in the East Village. Nevada Smith's is gonna be packed for the pregame for the US. Caught some games here and I have to say the atmosphere was great. If you are a football fan in NY, the East Village is the spot for you. Not too many Korean fans but you have fun mingling with all different types of ppl. K-town has plenty of spots too. Maru/Players/MK/Circle + all the restaurants will be showing the game. Mostly all the bars/restaurants in Flushing are showing the game too. I'm watching it in K-town. No street viewings but once the game ends with a Korea win, we will hit the streets hard and party like its 2002.
I saw the last game at Players in K-town. Think i'm gonna try the kum gang san in flushing tomorrow. have you been there to watch a game yet?
Some of my friends were at Players for the last game too. My uncle was at Kum Kang San for the 1st. He said it was overcrowded just like Dae Dong but they were giving out free t-shirts.
That reminds me, my boss mentioned they have a huge public viewing screen in Dumbo at the new park by the waterfront (next to one of the bridges). Not sure how the crowd has been but he mentioned he saw the USA game there. that's about the only outdoor viewing screen i've heard of.
i recommend circle...i went for the argentina game and it was $10 all you can drink beer, johnny, goose and patron. it was packed but not too packed.
Somehow, this doesn't sound like such a great deal at 7AM. I guess 10AM is a little better but not really.
Players have big screens. Haven't been to Baden Baden in 2 years at least but they had small screens from what I remember.
Thanks for the scoop. Trying to figure out what the best options on 32nd are, if quality of picture is top consideration. Sounds like Players is a good option...
