anyone not signed with a team that had an ok career in mls available now? i remember preki was a solid pick up for miami when kc didnt sign him,,,anyone other than ed sucko available?
One player worth considering is Jeff Bilyk. He is a speedy winger who played for two years w/ the Miami Fusion. He is 25 years old and a Long Island resident. He was not chosen in last years draft after the Fusion folded.
jeff is happy in milwaukee. dc united wanted him, but was only going to give him minimum money...and he's doing alright money wise in milwaukee. he's not leaving! thanks
Bilyk never really had the chance to prove himself in MLS. While with Miami he wasn't too efficient however. I believe he played 35 games netting 0 goals and having only 3 assists. He was originally with the Crew where he didn't see too much playing time, if any. He played his youth in Long Island, I believe in Brentwood or somewhere near there. I think he is an A-League player at best and there is more talent there now then there was since 95 so I think if he is going to improve and get into MLS, he should stay in the A-League a little longer.
I think we'll probably end up seeing some players like Steve Shak and Johnny Torres getting looks this spring in Florida. Who knows, we might even be able to pull off Dan R's dream and add Lenin Steenkamp to the fold.
