I have to brag a little. If FCD ever has a women's affiliate I have a prospect for them. My daughter is being added to Blackwatch's '00 girls Academy team. At age six she avg.d 4.5 goals a game two seasons in a row in rec. Now she gets to learn how to pass! Who else is proud of a kiddo?
You can start in Japan! A couple of guys I grew up with did it. They went into the Marines and the morons both knocked up local girls and were forced to marry. Immediately upon arrival back on American soil with new families in tow their wives divorced them and were never seen again.
Obviously you too drink while posting . An even bigger waste of time than Big Sucker is: Turfmonster.com. You'll have to get yourself registered after you click on forums. At which point you can click on Girls Academy. Once there, you can waste loads of time splitting hairs with people just like yourself. And yes, it is just like a Tolken novel. Congrats on your girl. These can be some really good times as a parent. However, the nerd in me cautions you to not overdo it, and to enjoy and celebrate the good without clouding your horizons with unrealistic future expectations.
I have a 2 year old with a pretty good kick....now if I can only convince her that Cristiano Ronaldo is gay........
She'll know he's gay by age 4... don't worry. He's also sneaky slow. His short legs move quickly but he doesn't.
My 10 year old has a pretty awesome kick... knows how to send it top corner quite a bit. Still working on quickness with her though. She is a great soccer player, loves the sport, and is usually one of the top on her team indoor or outdoor... unfortunately, sports is not her best gift from God, she's much smarter than she is athletic, but she is always great on the field. I am proud of her! Her 5 year old sister is starting to do well with indoor, already scoring goals every game! And she does something that resembles a pass each game too!
out of curiosity, do any of these girls show an interest in following the sport on television or by attending professional games? well, I guess probably not for the four year old or the two year old. maybe I'll ask again in a few years.
My 7 year old looked like Sala at her game last Saturday. I wouldn't say she's destined for any sort of great career playing on the USWNT, but she loves playing and that's good enough for me.
my 2 year old watches soccer with me, she is also learning the chants pretty well too (the wife is not really thrilled about that).
My 10 year old goes to every FC Dallas game with me (we are STH's) and we regularly watch any game we can on tv... she even watches the Spanish broadcasts even though we don't understand anything they say... well, except for GooooooooooL!!! She does love the sport, but it's far too early to tell if she'll play in college or anything. She has already mentioned that she wants to play in high school. Most of the girls she has played with on various teams have been together with her since they were 6, and most of them will attend the same high school one day (about 7 girls). They plan to dominate when they get there.
My six year old goes to every FCD game and sits through my noise. She was very upset that ROB was traded because she picked her playing number based on his #6. Coop is her new favorite FCD player.
My 13 year old watched too much Graziani in her youth, and now her coaches like her sneaky scoring touch but tell her she needs to help once in a while on harrassing the defenders if the mood ever strikes her.
My 12 year old is the bomb of a midfielder. Played club ball in the APL last year. Decided she didnt want to travel. Now I get to coach her Rec team and introduce alot of little Abbies to the game. She played defensive mid for me in 3 tournaments and over 12 games we only gave up 2 goals. Kinda like adding Ricchetti to FCD. She's being recruited to go back to the Club team. They are planning on moving to the Highland Park league next year. They should be fairly competitive group in the second division. She loves watching games with me. Has an older sister who plays, but is out with a knee injury and a five year old sister who "LOVES THE GAME". Got the disease from their dear old dad. Lots of fun!
I have a fat-ass Welsh Corgi that could probably play keeper as well as someone we know. Not sure if that counts, though.
