i really dig him. ever since i read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas about 7 years ago i've been hooked. i love The Great Shark Hunt, the Rum Diary, Hell's angels and so on. i also, being a big gridiron fan, really like the articles he writes for espn.com. did anyone see when conan obrien interviewed hunter at hunter's house in colorado???? man that was great great tv.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is two of the six books I've read in my life - once while tripping, once while sober. Fun either way.
i too love hst each fall when the political climate reaches its peak i like to pickup his book "fear and loathing on the campaign trail" and read a few pages for reading this book it seems to me that nothing has changed except the cast of characters in politics his converations with nixon about american football are amazing brilliant stuff
He does a column for ESPN's page 2. I'm not sure if he's writing for any other publication these days. He might still write for Rolling Stone. Here's a link to his ESPN archive: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/archive?columnist=hunter_s._thompson&root=page2
