I never heard of this guy before I saw his new tv show and I must say I am hooked on this guy. There's something about him I don't know, I think he's great and very talented. I mean his show is kinda lame it's a stupid family comedy but I still like it and George Lopez himself is the next big comedy star to come out, you wait and see.
Never seen the show, never plan on seeing the show, but saw a promo a long while back and laughed my ass off. "George Lopez, Just like J-Lo, but with less junk in the trunk."
Everytime I see George Lopez I swear I see the bigshots at ABC saying success. I feel this way because I'm Mexican and I feel the only reason they're putting this guy on t.v. is because he's latino. I have never viewed this show so my comments are just pure speculation.
I'm not sure I understand what you are saying...ABC is pandering to Latinos? Lopez is not talented? Latinos should not be in sitcoms?
I've seen the show once and I liked it alright. It is kind of stupid but what ABC sitcom isn't? I like his standup much better. He doesn't really stick to a script, he pretty much talks about whatever he wants. My favorite story is about a show he did at a state hospital his cousin was admitted. He was heckled by a guy who had to put some thing over his throat to speak, like Ned from South Park. Does anyone know how his show is doing in the ratings?
Favorite line from the show has to be from the first episode where his daughter won't go into the school swimming pool, " Why does she need to learn how to swim? We'realready here!". Priceless. George has really polished his comedy routine. I remember his comedy routine from the early nineties was pretty much a lot of misses with a few gems here and there, now it's pretty good. ABC made him grow out his hair to make him more sitcom friendly. Before he would always have his hair short and slicked back OG style or buzzed.
