In his first appearance of the season, Nava came off the bench and scored for the U20s in a 3-1 loss to Puebla.

Nava is registered with the first team per the Liga MX database, which is interesting. He's been given #31. We'll see if he's able to earn any PT.

Nava started, scored a goal, and was subbed out at the half for the Club Tijuana U-20s yesterday as they started the 2018 Apertura with a 2-0 win.

During the 2018 Clausura he scored a goal in 12 games (9 starts) with the Club Tijuana U-20s. He also made 2 appearances (1 start) with the Tijuana Liga Premier team.

Has played for USYNTs before and hasn't been part of Mexico YNTs in a year and a half, so one to keep an eye on.

He has previous USYNT caps and has been called into the Mexico U20s in the current cycle, but did not make their qualifying roster and thus was not provisionally cap-tied.

I watched the full 90. Partly for Pareja and my soft spot for Xolos and Liga MX but also to watch Nava. Fellow dual nationals Brizuela and Ponce are still with Chivas and started. Brizuela had the second in a 2-0 Chivas win.

Nava played on the right of midfield, in a kind of advanced position. I think it was a 4-4-2 diamond but Xolos were set up to attack through Fabian Castillo on the left. So they seemed purposely unbalanced in attack and stayed home on the other side when Nava was in at 0-0. Castillo torched Chivas over and over. He looked so fast, just as you’d remember from the Dallas days.

Nava seems a simple player. A good pair of legs to run and press and cover. His touch is fine. He’s compact. He looked his age and a little overwhelmed at times. I think he was playing out of position. When he drifted middle he looked a little better the very few times he got the ball at his feet. Didn’t look like a wide player naturally.

He stayed positionally disciplined. His teammates hardly ever gave him the ball and he rarely showed for it or looked like he really wanted it. Pareja pulled him out at 63’ shortly after they went 1-0 down.

At his best he looks like he’ll be a nice tidy midfield player, probably with some positional versatility, endurance and bite when he develops. Tough outing for the young man tonight.

He is with Queretaro now, and was an unused sub for the 2020 Clausura opener this weekend. @bungadiri @TheFalseNine

During the 2019 Apertura with Club Tijuana, Nava made 1 substitute appearance in the league playing 23 minutes, had 4 starts in the Copa MX, and scored 2 goals in 21 starts with the Club Tijuana U-20s. The Club Tijuana U-20s fell 2-1 on aggregate in the 2019 Apertura U-20 final.
