Huddersfield PK - Pass comes in between Ream and Rodak the keeper - Rodak takes out Thomas while going for the ball. GOAL HOLMES - Duane chosen to take the PK, and scores right down the middle, almost kick saved by Rodak as he dove to the right.
TEAM NEWS! 🚨#FULBLA pic.twitter.com/v4wUsuzrLw— Fulham Football Club (@FulhamFC) March 5, 2022 Jedi and Ream both start, Ream wearing the armband. Playing their normal positions. First vs. fourth on the table.
Opening goal for Fulham the result of Blackburn's keeper conceding a rebound on a shot he probably could have held. Our guys not involved. They are helping with the 70/30% possession advantage, though.
Fulham go up 2-0 via Wilson running onto a through ball and chipping the keeper. Huge swing just before that - great mazy dribbling run by a Blackburn guy eventually cleaned up by Ream, but not before the dribbler goes down from contact with Kebano that is ruled simulation and a card. But only two minutes between a potentially equalizing penalty and Fulham making it 2-0.
Nico Williams just took a shot from one step over the midfield line that pinged off of the crossbar. Would have made all the highlight reels. Oh well.
Looks like 1-1 today will be the final. Draw vs Burnley. Jedi and Ream go the distance, each picking up a yellow for their trouble.
Jedi and Ream start a meaningless (for Fulham) match vs Luton Town. With the news that Jedi may have surgery in the offseason, why is he playing? I don't know. Joe Bryan healthy and on the bench if they want to limit Jedi's minutes.
1-0 Fulham on a great bit of interplay between Wilson and Cairney while Luton were down to 10 with an injured guy way upfield. Beautiful overall play worth checking out the highlight. Yanks uninvolved.
Might be just as well to get everyone out of this one - Luton with four first half yellows, and the three I saw were clear player safety calls. Luton manager freaking out about it, but I don't think he's seen replays.
Tete with a great 27 yard shot into the lower corner. Jedi's pretty good cross was cleared by a defensive header right to Tete, who took a touch to tee it up and aim for the lower corner.
Fulham go up 3-0. Luton is screwing up their goal differential, and might want to focus on avoiding red cards and conceding more goals at this point. Like, just letting Ream stand around with the ball 70 yards from goal might be a good idea. Instead, Lansbury has committed two plays that could have earned him a second yellow, but the ref may be consciously avoiding that second yellow.
I don't care that it's in the Championship - I am glad we are not playing Serbia for specifically that dude.
6-0, another great long shot that started with a well-defended but only partially cleared Jedi cross. Goal by Seri.
Fulham 7 on the 43rd from Mitrovic. The crowd for some reason chants "we want seven" beforehand. Wilson intercepts, dribbles 30 yards, and sets up Mitrovic very well for an open look at the far post. And now full time.
Both Ream and Robinson start, as Fulham flash some serious DGAF energy while Sheffield United are the opposite, trying to ensure they finish in the playoff spots. First goal - header by Gibbs-White, who Ream maybe should have been marking more closely. Second goal - Seri turnover 35 yards out leaves the defense disorganized. Ream rushes back to cover, but while he prevents a shot, the wide open pass is made to Ndiaye, who Jedi seems to realize is wide open a second too late. Third goal - Ndiaye gets to the end line, cutback pass gets by Ream. Seri for some reason leaves Berge alone, Jedi dashes across to try to block his shot at the six yar line, but can't and he seems slightly hurt in the process. Hope your morning is going better than Fulham's. Then again, most of you weren't just promoted, so...
