Well a little bump here as I live in Qatar. Was going to start a new thread but scrolled back 13 pages and found we already have one. :D

Going into the new international break, it's been a bad start honestly for Hudson and Markhiya. They've lost all 3 of their first games in the newly named Expo Stars league, the last one a 5-2 loss to fellow relegation candidates Muaither.

Here's some highlights from that match, some of you may recognize that stadium as the one where USA played Wales. The goals are good comedy lol.... Goalkeeping is yikes.... I think there's a Hudson sighting around 2:25 mark....

He's been doing some punditry for Bein Sports recently as their headquarter is in Doha... today for the Norway v Spain match..
I notice it says, "Former USA Interim manager" as opposed to "Current Al-Markhiya manager" as his personal description lol....

Hudson is becoming quite a mainstay on Bein Sports, 2 days consecutively commentating on the AFC Asian Cup. I guess Keys & Gray are doing the EPL games so there was an opening for this. Not sure what he's doing at Al Markhiya. Wikipedia has him down as Technical Director while Al-Markhiya SC - Wikipedia while Madjid Bougherra is now the manager. However, the club's official website has Bougherra as technical director and no manager :) Administrative and Technical Staff – Al Markhiya Sports Club (almarkhiyasc.qa) Anyway whatever, he seems to be doing better than the club itself which seems destined for relegation at this point...

just a little update, looks like Anthony Hudson has just landed the Al Arabia job here in Qatar.... That's a big step up from Markhiya. Arabi are bottom of the Qatar Stars League, but they are a relatively big club in Qatar having won the Emir Cup back in 2023, a bunch of things in the 90s, and consistently finishing in the top half of the Qatari league these last couple of years. Gabriel Batistuta played for Al Arabi, and Marco Veratti is probably their biggest current player. I doubt they'll be at the bottom of the table for long as this is definitely a bigger gig than Markhiya...
